Ablu Botanica is a family-run artisanal bath, body and beauty company founded in San Miguel de Allen Our creed is beauty in balance.

Our botanical formulas highlight both the wild and cultivated resources of Mexico and are rooted in a belief in the sustainability of handmade, locally sourced products. Legend has it that soap was discovered when rain washed ash and animal fat—residue of ritual sacrifice—into the Tiber river, where ancient Romans washed their clothes. The rituals of cleansing, purifying and anointing our bodies h

ave been with us for thousands of years, surviving even the frenetic rush of modern life. These daily ablutions connect us to our past, to the natural world and humankind’s attempts to understand it. At Ablu, we are inspired by both the power of nature and of human ingenuity, which is why we develop products using sensuous natural ingredients and highly effective plant-derived synthetics. We are modern alchemists, enthralled by the magic of transformation when nature meets the lab. Sustainability is about balance, and how to achieve it in a vulnerable global ecosystem. We must balance today’s needs with tomorrow’s resources and it is this quest that is both our challenge and our reward as we seek out the best sources, formulate optimal products and strive to design less wasteful packaging.

First batch of holiday body mousse ✔️

This is Wild Orange + Cacao 🍊Made with whipped shea butter, cocoa butter, an infusion of Mexican vanilla in sunflower oil and a delicious blend of wild orange, ginger and cardamom essential oils. I truly had to resist licking the beaters! Each glass jar of goodness is $580 pesos 🧡

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted but I’m here 😌 This year has certainly been a year of change…letting go of some things while making way for the new.
I no longer produce our retail product line, but I am still making bulk products for boutique hotels and B&Bs. And I’m very happy to share that I will be offering two special edition body mousses for the holiday season ✨🪅

My winter solstice was inward-looking, quiet—even with my children’s excitement brewing as Christmas approaches...🎄

We all want to leave 2020 behind, but I also feel a twinge of nostalgia, a desire to deeply breathe in these remaining weeks before plunging into the unknowns of a new year ✨
