Unless you’re coming to cook, clean or bring snacks… it’s a no thank you from me. 😂

Those first few weeks can be such a special (and exhausting) time. Sometimes you want all the visitors, and sometimes you just want to stay in your pyjamas, feed your baby and have some peace.

There’s no right answer. Do what feels right for you.

Did you want visitors after giving birth, or were you firmly in the “please give us some space” camp? 😂👇

If you’re having a repeat C-section, being prepared can make the whole experience feel a little less daunting.

One thing you could discuss with your surgeon beforehand is whether they expect there to be scar tissue from your previous C-section and whether any scar tissue can safely be removed during the surgery. This isn’t something every surgeon will do, and they’ll be able to advise what’s appropriate in your individual case.

Repeat C-section mums, what’s one thing you did differently the second time?

There is SO much pressure on mums to be “back to normal” by the six-week check-up. But six weeks is barely any time at all when you’ve just grown a whole human, given birth and are adjusting to life with a newborn.

There’s no deadline for feeling like yourself again. No need to “bounce back”. And no prize for doing it quickly.

Give yourself time. Give yourself grace. Your body has been through a lot. 💛

Did you feel pressure to “bounce back” after having your baby? Tell us in the comments, or tag a new mum who needs this reminder.

This is your reminder that every scar and every body heals in its own time.

Healing isn’t linear - so if your C-section recovery doesn’t look like hers, that’s okay.

Tag a C-section mama who’s struggling with their scar and save this post for the days you feel behind.
