What you choose to eat has profound effects on your overall health. What we put into our bodies is what we will get out of it.

In today’s society it’s easier to run to the drug store to pick up a pill that will take care of whatever symptoms you’ve got going on whether it be a headache, back pain, or stomach ache. They can make you feel better…. that day. But for how many of you is your first thought, “well how have I been treating my body lately?”

Did you know that getting an adequate amount of fiber in your diet allows for proper digestion and feeds the good bacteria in your gut? That could help with a stomach ache.

Did you know that getting adequate amounts of omega-3 fatty acids can decrease systemic inflammation throughout your body? That could help with that back pain (or any joint pain).

Did you know that vitamins such as vitamin C and B6 can help strengthen blood vessels in the brain and synthesize neurotransmitters that help the body react to stress? That could definitely help to reduce headache frequency.

Little bit about me:

I am 28 years old (in 10 days) and am originally from Seattle, WA but was raised in the great state of Iowa (go hawks 💛🖤). I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with my doctorate in October 2019. I just recently moved to Naperville, IL to work for the amazing Dr. Leah Guidolin at Maverick Chiropractic! I am loving it here so far and enjoy being close to my sister in the city.

I have a smart and sassy 8 year old daughter. Her name is Addison, but most people call her Addie. Most days it feels like she’s the mom and I’m the kid but we kind of just work that way. She’s my everyday reminder that the world is a beautiful place, you just have to want to see it.

I also have 2 sweet, but kind of weird, doggos. My sweet, little, cuddly one, Dakota, is a 3 year old Blue Heeler Terrier. She’s the biggest momma’s girl you’ll ever meet. Aspen is my crazy and energetic 10 month old Australian Shepherd. She’s a little d***y but that’s why we love her.

Happy International Women’s Chiropractic Day to all of my fellow female chiros!! I feel so honored to know so many incredible, badass women. I have met some of the smartest, kindest, purest people in this profession and I’m so thankful to call you colleagues. The intelligence that comes from so many of these women is truly inspiring and makes me hopeful for the future of healthcare. Thank you for serving your communities to create a healthier world ♥️
