Traveling overseas with food allergies can feel overwhelming, but a little preparation goes a long way. Here are a few things I did before our recent trip that helped A TON:

1. Reached out to ahead of time to discuss my son's food allergies and learn about their dining procedures both on the ship and during excursions.
2. Contacted our pre-cruise and post-cruise hotels to make sure they could safely accommodate his allergies.
3. Ordered allergy translation cards for the countries we were visiting, so we could clearly communicate his allergies even if there was a language barrier.
4. Downloaded the app to find allergy-friendly restaurants and read reviews from other families in each city on our itinerary.

Doing these things ahead of time gave me so much more confidence than trying to figure it out when we arrived (P.S. More to come about how we actually navigated his allergies during the trip - including what I brought with us, dining on the ship and on land and so much more!!)

Remember - While traveling with food allergies takes extra planning, it doesn't have to keep your family from exploring the world.
