We built this outhouse for the business and put it out in the forest, we thought that would be cool, and it was.. until we realized that the forested part of our property floods every year.

Yesterday, the out house was relocated to its new home. I am beyond impressed with things my husband can do!

Now the outhouse will get the long awaited upgrades! Come visit me for a walk and see how it turns out!

🌿 Did you know...

A forest therapy walk has been shown to reduce cortisol, your body's primary stress hormone. Lower cortisol levels can help reduce both physical and mental stress while supporting better sleep, improving focus and mood, strengthening your immune system, and promoting long-term heart and metabolic health.

Imagine slowing down and letting nature do what it does best.

✨ Why not give it a try?
Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you.

Follow the links below to reserve your Forest Therapy Walk today. We can't wait to welcome you to the trails. 🌳💚

🌿 Did You Know... 🌿

Although ticks are especially abundant in our area this year, that hasn't been the case here at Ends in E Acres.

Why might that be? While we can't say for certain, there are a few possibilities:

🌽 We're surrounded by farm fields, where ticks generally don't thrive as well as they do in wooded or brushy areas.

🦆 Our property is home to a variety of domestic and wild animals, many of which naturally feed on ticks as part of their diet.

💧 Much of our land lies within a floodplain. While ticks can survive being submerged for extended periods, periodic flooding may disrupt their habitat and reduce their numbers.

Whatever the reason, we've been pleasantly surprised by how few ticks we've encountered on our forest trails this season.

If you've been hesitant to join a Forest Therapy Walk because of the high tick population elsewhere, consider this your invitation. Come slow down, breathe deeply, and experience the restorative beauty of the forest with confidence.

🌿 We'd love to welcome you to the trails.

What is Forest Therapy or Forest Bathing?

Forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-yoku, began in Japan as a way to support health through time in nature. It doesn’t involve hiking or exercise. Instead, it’s about slowing down and engaging your senses. This simple practice invites your mind and body to return to a more natural rhythm.

🌱 Why It Matters - What Research Shows
A growing body of research in public health journals highlights the powerful effects of time in nature.

🧠 Calms the Mind - Studies show forest bathing can:
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve mood and emotional balance
• Quiet mental “noise” and racing thoughts

❤️ Supports the Body - Time in nature has been linked to:
• Lower blood pressure and heart rate
• Reduced stress hormones (like cortisol)
• Improved immune system function

🌿 Restores Your Nervous System - Forest environments help activate your parasympathetic nervous system. This is the state where your body can:
• Rest
• Repair
• Restore
This is the opposite of the “fight or flight” mode many of us live in daily.

🌼 What You Might Notice Afterward
• Feeling lighter and more at ease
• A quieter, clearer mind
• A deeper sense of connection to nature and themselves
• Improved sleep and relaxation

🌱 Rooted in Nature, Created for Connection
At Ends in E Acres, our experiences are designed to help you rest, renew, and reconnect—with nature, with others, and with yourself.
