Dear friends, the True Peace Sangha in Toronto invites us to participate in an Earth Day practice. Details are below.

Each time you take a mindful step you are back in the arms of Mother Earth and are reminded of your true sweet home in the here and now.
- Thich Nhat Hanh

True Peace Sangha would like to invite you to join us for a screening of the documentary, The Way Out, in honour of Earth Day 2022 on Friday, April 22nd, 6:30p.m EST.

Inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, The Way Out follows two young people, a Brazilian banker and a British activist, during a stressful period in their lives; centering around themes of climate change, activism, and mindfulness.

In addition to the documentary screening, True Peace facilitators will be guiding participants through the Plum Village practice of Touching the Earth to bring us into a deeper connection to our beautiful planet, as well as providing time for Dharma Sharing after the viewing so we can reflect together on our practice.

Tickets for this event can be found on Eventbrite - with all proceeds going directly to the film's creators - as well as through our email list available on truepeace.ca.

’When we practice breathing in and we say, “I have arrived,” and we really arrive, that is success. To be fully present, 100 percent alive, is a real achievement. The present moment has become our true home. When we breathe out and say, “I am home” and we really feel at home, we no longer have to be afraid. We really don’t need to run anymore.’ - TNH

When we are not fully present, we are not really living

Coordinated Philly-Area Sangha Action to support global children's - September 20

WHEN: Friday, September 20, 10:00am (ends at 1pm, or any time you wish to depart)
WHERE: Love Park, near Suburban Station (Arch Street side, by the Statue) AND City Hall, Philadelphia

DETAILS
"Peace is based on respect for Life" - Thich Nhat Hanh

We will gather as one Sangha, one family, to support the children of the world who have organized this global day of climate action. We will gather to promote and protect the future of life on Earth.

Our day begins at 10:00 am in Love Park (near the iconic statue). As others join, we will sing songs of peace. Around 10:45, we will walk as a sangha mindfully and silently a few short blocks to the site of the protest - Philadelphia City Hall. There, we will bear peaceful witness - sitting or standing in solidarity with the children and activists. Staying mostly silent, we will share the energy of loving kindness with all people we encounter. All who wish to participate, mindfully, are welcome to join.

Please wear brown in honor of Mother Earth. Bring food and water to sustain you and something to sit on, if needed. Create a sign or banner to carry. Remember, we are in solidarity with the children. Check back here for weather updates.
