Coordinated Philly-Area Sangha Action to support global children's - September 20
WHEN: Friday, September 20, 10:00am (ends at 1pm, or any time you wish to depart)
WHERE: Love Park, near Suburban Station (Arch Street side, by the Statue) AND City Hall, Philadelphia
DETAILS
"Peace is based on respect for Life" - Thich Nhat Hanh
We will gather as one Sangha, one family, to support the children of the world who have organized this global day of climate action. We will gather to promote and protect the future of life on Earth.
Our day begins at 10:00 am in Love Park (near the iconic statue). As others join, we will sing songs of peace. Around 10:45, we will walk as a sangha mindfully and silently a few short blocks to the site of the protest - Philadelphia City Hall. There, we will bear peaceful witness - sitting or standing in solidarity with the children and activists. Staying mostly silent, we will share the energy of loving kindness with all people we encounter. All who wish to participate, mindfully, are welcome to join.
Please wear brown in honor of Mother Earth. Bring food and water to sustain you and something to sit on, if needed. Create a sign or banner to carry. Remember, we are in solidarity with the children. Check back here for weather updates.
