This space was created to connect + share what I have learnt and continue to learn as a teacher, wellness educator and mindful mover. I hope to enlighten you and inspire a more mindful, empowered, + vibrant life! That means being nourished by good food, traveling often, showing love and care for yourself so you to can encourage others to do the same! Philosophy:
~ Our bodies are incredible and meant to heal themselves
~ It is worth exploring + using a natural approach that supports the body before taking a synthetic approach
~ There is a time and place for modern medicine
~ When we know better, we do better. TMB is about advocating a life that is balanced between the pillars of health: whole foods, stress management, physical activity, reduced toxic load, and promoting self-care. Please understand that due to FDA guidelines, we cannot diagnose or suggest treatment for what is labelled as a disease. Only drugs are approved by the FDA for treatment. Please do not post any pictures asking for diagnosis or treatment. These posts will be removed.
~ It's very important that you use only pure, therapeutic grade essential oils that are sourced around the globe where they grow abundantly and in their natural environment (that's where the magic lives)

Connection is the cure. It has been since the beginning.

These aren’t phases to fix. They’re biology and biology, at its core, is connection. It’s normal — biologically normal — to need to be connected to you. As a 6 month old, as a 6 year old, as a 16 year old.

Let’s not complicate it… Connection is the cure. 💗

A year ago I shared this and felt a lot differently about it than I do now. A lot of new faces have come into this community since then, and moms are still going to have NICU experiences, births that may not have gone the way they planned, and really the version of motherhood nobody prepares you for.

So resharing this isn’t about going back to the hard part. I don’t need to relive that. It’s about taking what I actually learned from this experience (the tools and healing) and giving it to the women who need it now.

Comment “Substack” and I’ll send you how I personally got through it and how these resources can help you too. 🩵

Anyone else randomly think
about the nurses that took care
of their baby in the NICU? Complete
strangers that gave the best care to your
baby, constant monitoring & reassuring you through so much fear. They never judge, they listen to your concerns and give you the best answers, while supporting your family and keeping your baby comfortable and safe.
To our NICU nurses, thank you. It might
be your job, but it's our child's life.

I wish I was more excited for school starting.

If you’re not either… you’re not alone. It’s not weird to think about alternatives constantly, to want to keep your kids close even as the world tells you it’s time to let go a little more each year.

I saw it so clearly this summer. We barely outsourced our kids at all, and I didn’t come out needing distance from them… I came out having grown because of them. They earn years off you in the best way. They teach you what you still need to work on, what you’re capable of. And that’s not just for you. It’s for them too.

I shared a version of this on my story and within minutes, my DMs were full of moms saying the same thing. I feel the same. I feel the same. I feel the same.

So if you’re dreading the goodbye more than you’re excited for the routine… you’re not absolutely not failing at this, you’re just not alone in it.

I will always stand by what we actually need as moms and I truly believe it isn’t more separation… it’s support that keeps us with them, not away from them.

So this back to school season… whether your kids are heading back to school, back to daycare, back to homeschooling, or back to a totally different routine we’re keeping moms in mind!

We’re giving away backpacks and back to school goodies, plus a 2-hour cleaning from “Mary”. Because the support moms actually need isn’t more to manage. It’s less…

I do not have this whole mom thing figured out. I don’t think I ever will.

What I do have is a sense of purpose. A sense of contribution to other women, other mothers to believe they can do hard things in motherhood. That they can choose themselves. That they can take care of their body mentally, physically, emotionally.

There’s nothing more expansive than being a seed of belief for other women. Continuing to work on yourself as a person, as a human, as a mother, so that other women believe they can do the same.

And what I’ve learnt since becoming a mom 6 years ago and having 3 of my own babies is, if you want more self-worth, more self-confidence… go work on something bigger than yourself. Not outside yourself, but beyond just you. When you have a purpose that isn’t only about you, you show up differently.

That’s what this is for me. It’s not just about my own belief in myself anymore. It’s about who that belief impacts my kids, yes, but also other women. The greater good.

It’s not about having it all figured out. It’s about believing you can do it and doing it anyway. Doing the hard thing. Doing the thing that isn’t the norm, that isn’t what we’re told is right or appropriate.

Thinking and doing and believing greater for yourself, so other people can do the same for themselves.

I know it’s well meaning, obviously it is… no one is saying this to be dismissive, but what if it is?

When a mom is actually struggling and she hears “it’s okay, you’ve got this,” what she hears underneath it is push through, handle it, don’t tell me the truth.

We support moms by buying out their registries and throwing baby showers. But maybe the real support isn’t the stuff at all. Maybe it’s someone actually saying, maybe you do need help, maybe you do need to talk to someone, maybe you actually aren’t okay. And maybe that’s okay too, because it’s not about fixing you, it’s about being seen and moved toward the help you actually need.

So instead of “it’s okay, you’ve got this,” try, this is really hard, you don’t have to do this alone, and ask her what she actually needs.

It’s hot to think you’re hot. It’s cool to think you’re cool. Especially as a mom.
