😍I am so excited about the revitalization of (OSAC) Oregon Self Advocacy Coalition!
🤩They have become a true coalition, helping self-advocate groups form and stabilize all over the state.
🎙️The CAC and I recently attended a regional event in Roseburg that they hosted.
👍It's a new era of self-advocacy with state funding acknowledging the valuable input of people who receive services.

The Linkage Project has been a lifesaver to several folks I've referred. They help people over 18 with IDD find a doctor, dentist, or mental health provider. Save yourself the endless phone calling only to be told by clinic after clinic that they aren't taking new patients. The Linkage Project can also help you coordinate care between medical providers. https://www.ohsu.edu/oregon-office-on-disability-and-health/linkage-project

Join Dani, me, and the Arc crew for a presentation by Tom Keeting and Toby Rickard of Cognitopia. They'll be sharing a web-based platform that is available to students through school and adults through DD services. The tool beautifully organizes goals, activities, and progress related to the IEP or ISP using video, photos, simple graphs, and more. All easily sharable with everyone on your student's team including family and friends. It's great for increasing autonomy. We'll be at the The Arc Lane County 6:00-8:00 this Thursday 5/21. See you there!

Healthy Relationships Need Boundaries
- personal space
- money
- personal belongings
- mental
- emotional
- time
- What else?

I developed this handout a few years ago. The CAC and I are going to revise it so they can share it with other self-advocates. They came up with such great feedback and really got at the reality of how nuanced boundaries can be. Boundaries aren't easy!

Equity in research is important for the wellbeing of all populations!
See below for this paid opportunity to bring the experiences of pwd into our national body of knowledge about sexual health.

The Pregnancy Decisions App Project, led by Willi Horner-Johnson at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is looking for adults with developmental disabilities to take a survey for their research project about pregnancy and disabilities. Community members with disabilities and scientists are working together to create a phone app for people with developmental disabilities, including autism and intellectual disability.

The survey is online and takes about 30-60 minutes to complete. If you need or want help doing the survey, the research team can help you by phone, email or video call. You’ll get a $25 Amazon gift card for completing the survey.

To participate, you must:
• Be 18-50 years old
• Have a developmental disability
• Have the ability to get pregnant (even if it is unlikely)
• Live in the U.S.

If you are interested in taking the survey and or would like more information, you can contact the research team at:

This post is getting picked up by bots, so please DM me for contact info.
