As the CARE exhibition comes to a close on August 1st, I'm grateful to have my piece, Things Otherwise Unseen, included in this meaningful show.

This work reflects on how caregiving, illness, memory, and grief continue to shape us long after the visible moments have passed. Through layers of paint, collage, and memory, it explores the unseen emotional landscape of caring for those we love.

Thank you to the wonderful South Haven Center for the Arts for creating such a thoughtful exhibition and for bringing together so many powerful voices that we all need to hear. There's still time left for a journey to see this exhibition before it closes!

In 2024, Ottillie's Basket found a home at the Detroit Institute of Arts as part of the Ofrendas: Celebrating El Día de Mu***os exhibition.

Now, as I prepare for my solo exhibition this September at the Adrian Center for the Arts the basket is being remade once again. I never know exactly where this process will lead. I simply follow intuition, adding, removing, and responding as meaning slowly reveals itself.

Ottillie's Basket isn't finished. It never really is. It continues to gather memory, significance, and new life each time it returns to my hands. Creating is always a journey of surprise.

I'm honored to have No Desserts Ever included in The Art of the Story exhibition at the Northville Art House in Northville, Michigan, through June 30.

Inspired by the beloved The Poky Little Puppy, this miniature assemblage invites viewers into a tiny world filled with playful puppies, vintage toys, alphabet blocks, and, of course, desserts that may—or may not—be earned. It's a celebration of childhood memories, storytelling, and the joy of discovering the little details.

If you're nearby, I'd love for you to stop in and experience the stories brought to life by all of the artists in the exhibition. It's a journey worth taking!

Every journey leaves traces behind.

Built with cold wax, acrylic, and collage, this piece follows an intuitive path where layers, fragments, and unexpected connections slowly reveal themselves. For me, the work is a reminder that meaning is often found along the way, not at the destination.
