wants to congratulate our amazing partners at Benbowopka Treatment Centre as they celebrate the grand opening of their new facility on July 22, 2026. The day was an important step forward for Indigenous-led healing and wellness services in Northern Ontario.
Supported by a $23.5 million investment from the Government of Canada, the new facility will provide culturally grounded, land-based healing that brings together traditional Anishinaabe teachings and clinical approaches to address trauma, substance use and related challenges. The approach helps relatives reconnect with their spirit, culture, the land and the relationships that support their journey to wellness.
Among the dignitaries, there were Elders and Knowledge Keepers, members of parliament, Indigenous Services Canada, and other community partners.
It was a honour to have hosted such a well-attended event and the unveiling of our new state-of-the-art building to help our relatives heal.
Miigwech, to all who came out in support.

Due to the smoke and ash, the team is welcoming community members to stop by reception at 540 Albert Street, Sault Ste. Marie for a complimentary cold drink. This is an opportunity to cool down, take a break from the outdoor conditions, and spend some time in an indoor space.
Masks will also be available to help reduce exposure to the current poor air quality.

would like to remind everyone to, stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe.
With the extreme heat that we are experiencing, it's important to take care of yourself and those around you. Drinking plenty of water, finding shade or air-conditioned spaces, and taking breaks from the heat can help prevent heat-related illnesses.
Our amazing Peer Support Workers are out in the community connecting with people and offering support, and our hydration station is available at 540 Albert Street in Sault Ste. Marie, to help you stay cool with free water, Timbits, and a place to take a break.
If you're spending time outdoors, remember to drink water regularly and wear light clothing.
Please don't forget to check in on family, friends, Elders and neighbours who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

☀️ Summer Hours Reminder ☀️
recognizes the importance of balance, family, and community. In keeping with these values, our offices will be closing at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) each Friday through September 4 as part of our summer hours.
This initiative supports a healthy work-life balance for our team, giving staff additional time to connect with family and friends, to participate in community, and enjoy the summer season.
We kindly ask our community partners to plan meetings, calls, and visits accordingly. We appreciate your understanding and continued partnership as we prioritize the wellbeing of our staff.
