Cobar Primary Health Care Centre: Assistant Practice Manager
Cobar Primary Health Care Centre is a GPA Accredited Practice and currently has a vacancy for a Fulltime Assistant Practice Manager to become part of the practice team. This is a full-time position 76 hour per fortnight with a probationary period of 3 months. As an accredited practice, the successful applicant would be expected to work with the practice team to maintain the RACGP Standards for General Practice and be committed to continuous quality improvement.
As the Assistant Practice Manager you will support and assist the Practice Manager in the coordination & maintenance of all the operational requirements & accreditation of Cobar Primary Health Care Centre to ensure that it functions as a best practice primary health care centre & supports our multidisciplinary team to provide high level services to clients and community.
The Assistant Practice Manager must act with a high level of professionalism, confidentiality & integrity at all times within the practice & in the community. Excellent communication, interpersonal & conflict resolution skills are essential. You must have the ability to interact with other staff & General Practitioners in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, being proactive, resourceful & efficient, is crucial to this role. Excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability & attention to detail are all equally important.
Essential Criteria
• Previous experience in General Practice or related health service management, or willingness to learn
• Knowledge of MBS bulkbill item numbers, online claiming and Practice Incentive Program or willingness to learn
• Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritise & problem solve
• Excellent written & oral skills with a focus on clear, concise and respectful communication
• Experience working in a team environment and understanding of importance of being a team player
• Competent computer and software skills
• An understanding of the importance of cultural competency and the issues impacting on our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations
• Current driver’s license
Desirable Criteria
• Member of a professional body
• Certificate IV in Practice Management
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
