✨The Real Reason You’re Exhausted: Hormones, Sleep, and Ayurveda✨ “What if hormone balance is not about forcing your body into line, but learning how to listen, support, and work with it?

In this episode of Wellness in Every Season, Autumn Carter talks with Whitney Erwin, MSc, MEd, LMT, holistic health and Ayurvedic practitioner, clinical herbalist, and founder of Four Seasons Harmony, about balancing hormones naturally through herbal medicine and Ayurveda.

Whitney shares her personal healing journey from Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and migraines into long-term remission, and how that experience led her into clinical herbal medicine, Ayurveda, and holistic women’s health. Together, Autumn and Whitney explore why healing often takes time, how stress affects the body, and why women’s health cannot be treated with a one-size-fits-all approach.

This conversation dives into Ayurveda as the ‘science of life’, nervous system regulation, self-care, herbal support, hormonal health, thyroid wellness, burnout, emotional healing, and the importance of slowing down enough to actually hear what the body needs.” —Wellness in Every Season Podcast

Thank you so much for the beautiful conversation, Autumn. 🤍

🌿Food is Medicine🌿 Do you struggle with feeling confident about nutritional choices that work for your unique body? Are you committed to a healthy lifestyle, yet still feel confused, restricted, or overwhelmed about where to focus your time and energy on food?

While nutrition is a vast, nuanced, and complex topic, it shouldn’t be a block that holds you back from embodying vibrant health. Rather, food is one of the primary ways we intake vital life force (aka prana or chi) to sustain consistent energy levels and live our best lives.

A lifelong foodie, I’m constantly seeking ways to both enjoy food as a deeply pleasurable and lifegiving activity as well as an untapped clinical powerhouse tool to live in optimal health–WITHOUT a deprivation approach. Instead, I intentionally build on strengths, positive new ideas, fun recipes, and mindfulness strategies that have been time-tested for literally thousands of years combined with the best of modern clinical nutrition.

In case you’ve also experienced dismissal on the healing powers of food, like Carolina shared on this video, know you’re not alone. When seeking to support her dear son’s severe psoriasis, she received a constant message that “food has nothing to do with it” from doctor after doctor over many years with zero results for him. This eventually led her to seek alternate care from holistic health professionals, which finally positively moved the needle for her child.

You absolutely deserve so much better than being given the run around about food’s extraordinary healing capacity.

It’s long past time that nutrition is invited to be a welcome equal guest at the health table.

If you feel that there is more for your health and wellness than the answers you’ve been given so far on your healing journey, please bring your very own burning health question to our upcoming live “Women’s Wellness Unfiltered: Live Q&A” event.

Every single postpartum Closing of the Bones ceremony is such a profoundly beautiful, sacred, and positive experience. Thank you so much to amazing Misty Ward, highly experienced midwife and founder of Brookhaven Midwifery & Natural Birth Center, for teaming up with me to help support this lovely mama in her sacred window.✨

Each time I reflect to myself, “every mother on the planet 100% needs this ceremony.” Yet we all know that most mothers still do not receive the critical postpartum care they need.

Associated with a very beautiful, long standing, healing Mexican postpartum tradition, Closing of the Bones is also referred to as Cerrar la Cadera or La Cerrada. Pregnancy and birth expand the mother’s physical body and energy field significantly to usher in new human life. Hence, one of the core aspects across the globe in many traditional postpartum care practices involves helping to “close” women up.

Several of the many physiological expansions during pregnancy include:
✨ Increases in the hormone relaxin
💐 Blood volume increases by an average of 50%
✨ Diastasis recti expansion in 100% of women
💐 Pelvic opening during birth to allow for the baby’s passage

Emotional, psychological, and spiritual expansions are numerous as well and unique to each mother.

Benefits include:
✨ Abdominal work to help bring the fascia and muscles closer together for more effective pelvic floor and core contractions
💐 A break for deep rest, self-care, and nourishment
✨ Facilitate the important process of closing the pelvis after birth
💐 Sharing the mother’s birth story
✨ Giving a closing ceremony with family and friends

To learn more, please reach out anytime at https://www.fourseasonsharmony.com

Much gratitude to my dear teachers for exquisitely sharing these teachings and the lineages holding profound maternal care, knowledge, and wisdom.

In gratitude, love & service~

✨💐💗💐✨
