We love sharing stories like this one. 🙌

Candace Goh Xiao Huey found Physiopedia as a physio student in Malaysia in 2016. She went on to become a volunteer content editor, completed a master's in stroke rehabilitation, and now leads a team of 15 physiotherapists at a hospital in Sabah.

And this month, she published an open access RCT in Discover Neuroscience, research that grew, in part, from the skills she built through the Physiopedia community.

The registration of private physiotherapists as valid practitioners under MAHPC remains a significant concern, as only a limited number are currently registered and compliant with the requirements of the Allied Health Professions Act 2016 (Act 774). Under the Act, physiotherapists who practise without a valid MAHPC Practising Certificate may be subject to fines or other penalties as prescribed by law.

The Sabah Physiotherapy Association (SPA) remains committed to ensuring that private physiotherapists in Sabah are duly registered with MAHPC and possess valid Practising Certificates, thereby maintaining professional standards and safeguarding the quality of physiotherapy services provided in clinical settings.
