You snapped at your children this morning over something small. The guilt stayed with you all day.
You cried in the car, not about anything specific, just overwhelmed in a way you couldn't name.
You sat in a meeting you used to lead with energy and felt completely flat.
And underneath all of it: Is this who I am now?
It isn't.
Here is what your body has been trying to tell you.
Oestrogen regulates serotonin, as it fluctuates in perimenopause, so does your emotional baseline.
This is not depression, not burnout, not a personality change.
It is chemistry. Not character.
And it resolves, not immediately, but measurably, as the nervous system moves from Regulate toward Rebuild. As cortisol comes down, as the body begins to feel safe enough to stop bracing.
The version of you that snapped this morning is not your permanent self. She is a woman whose body has been communicating, and who is finally beginning to understand what it has been trying to say.
Have you experienced this? Tell me below, you are not alone in this. πŸ’›

Your body hasn't forgotten how to heal. Sometimes it simply needs the right conditions to begin.

04/08/2026

You snapped at your children this morning, and you've been asking yourself all day: is this who I am now?

It isn't.

Oestrogen regulates serotonin,Β  the neurotransmitter responsible for emotional stability, resilience and the sense of simply being okay. As oestrogen fluctuates in perimenopause, the emotional baseline fluctuates with it.

The disproportionate irritability is a Pitta response β€” hormonal heat combined with an overstretched nervous system. The flatness and disconnection is often a Vata response to deep depletion.

Both are physiological. Both are addressable. And both resolve, not immediately, but measurably, as the nervous system moves from Regulate toward Rebuild.

Here is what wellness got wrong: It told you to manage your stress better, but stress management is a surface intervention for what is a physiological reality. The nervous system has to be regulated first, genuinely, not performatively, before the emotional volatility begins to settle.

This is not a you problem. It is a chemistry problem, and chemistry can be addressed.

Have you experienced emotional changes that have felt unlike you? Tell me below. You are not alone in this. πŸ’›

You'll find the free Starter Kit in my bio and commentsβ€” it includes a morning regulation practice that begins to address the nervous system load underneath this.

She asked me if I'd lost weight.
I hadn't. The number hasn't moved significantly, but my body has changed completely. Her question made me think about what we actually mean when we say we want to lose weight, and whether that goal is serving us or misleading us.
What most women in perimenopause actually want:
More energy β€” not caffeinated, actual sustained energy still there at 7pm.
Better sleep β€” waking feeling restored rather than already behind.
Clothes that fit differently β€” less bloating, less heaviness, movement that feels easier.
A body they recognise β€” the sense of being at home in their own skin.
Confidence β€” the kind that comes from feeling well, not from achieving a number.
In perimenopause: a woman losing fat and building muscle can weigh exactly the same, or more, while her body transforms in every way she was hoping for.
The scales are measuring the wrong thing.
What does feeling better in your body actually mean to you, beyond a number? Tell me below. πŸ’›

It includes a 4-week tracker built around the measures that actually matter.

Your body hasn't forgotten how to heal. Sometimes it simply needs the right conditions to begin.

I haven't stood on a set of scales in years.

Not because I'm avoiding the number. Because the number is the least useful piece of information available about how my body is actually changing.

The scales cannot tell you whether the weight you carry is muscle or fat. Whether your energy is improving. Whether your inflammation is reducing. Whether your sleep is consolidating.

In perimenopause, where the goal is not to weigh less but to function better.

A number on a scale doesn't just fail to help, it actively misleads. A woman losing fat and gaining muscle can weigh exactly the same β€” or even slightly more β€” while her body transforms in every way she was hoping for.

Here's what I track instead.

Can I get up from the floor more easily than three months ago? That's muscle returning β€” the Rebuild phase working.

Is my energy stable past 3pm without caffeine? That's cortisol regulating β€” the nervous system moving out of Regulate.

Do my clothes fit differently even if the number hasn't moved? That's body composition shifting β€” fat reducing, muscle increasing.

Am I sleeping through? Thinking clearly? Present with the people I love in the evening rather than depleted?

These are the measures of a body that is healing. These are what change as you move through Regulate into Rebuild into Restore.

The scales measure gravity. They don't measure you.

What's one thing that has improved that has nothing to do with a number? Tell me below β€” I read every one. πŸ’›

For thousands of years, Ayurveda has encouraged us to eat in rhythm with the body. Today, chrononutrition research is revealing just how much when we eat may influence our metabolism, energy and overall health.
It's not just about what you eat, it's also about when.
πŸŒ… Breakfast like a Queen
A light, warm meal to gently awaken your digestion and nourish your body at the start of the day.
β˜€οΈ Lunch like a King
Make this your most nourishing meal, when your digestive fire is naturally at its strongest.
πŸŒ™ Dinner like a pauper
Keep it light, satisfying and a little earlier, allowing your body to transition into its overnight restorative phase.
If you eat dinner around 7pm and breakfast around 9am, you've naturally created a 14-hour overnight fasting windowβ€”without skipping breakfast or forcing your body to wait until midday for nourishment.
Sometimes the answer isn't a longer fast.
It's simply placing the fasting window where your body is better able to work with it.
✨ One small change to try this week: move dinner just 30 minutes earlier. Choose something warm and easy to digestβ€”perhaps Miso soup/ soup, a bowl of Dhal, or Stir fry with a little ghee and notice how your sleep, digestion and morning energy respond.
I'd love to know...
What time do you usually eat dinner? πŸ’›
If you'd like to explore more Ayurvedic approaches to supporting your body through perimenopause, you'll find my free Starter Kit in the bio. It includes this eating framework alongside four other simple dietary shifts to help you work with your body, not against it.

20/07/2026

Intermittent fasting works. Just not the way most women in perimenopause have been doing it.

The problem is not the fasting window. The problem is placing it at the wrong end of the day.

Skipping breakfast means fasting through your morning cortisol peak, telling your body scarcity and threat at the exact moment cortisol is already elevated. Your metabolism responds by protecting, storing, slowing.

Move the window to the evening instead.
Dinner at 6pm/ 7pm & Breakfast at 8am/ 9am, that is 14 hours, without skipping breakfast, without spiking morning cortisol, without sending a threat signal to a nervous system that is already managing more than enough.

The metabolic benefit of the fasting window, insulin regulation, cellular repair, fat mobilisation, is yours. Just at the right end of the day.

Tonight: try making dinner lighter and earlier. Miso soup, Dhal. Warm vegetables with ghee. Something your body can finish processing before sleep begins.

Your body will tell you what it thinks of the change. πŸ’›

Swipe through tomorrow's post for the full framework β€” breakfast, lunch and dinner β€” and why each meal matters for perimenopause specifically.

You are eating right, staying active, doing everything you were told to do, and your body is still not responding.
It isn't failing you. It has been trying to tell you something, and once you understand what that is, everything changes.

The Midlife Recalibration Method has 3 phases, in a specific order for a specific reason.

1) Regulate β€” nervous system first. A body in protection mode cannot rebuild its metabolism or restore its energy, no matter how hard you try. This is not a willpower problem, this is a communication problem.

2) Rebuild β€” once the nervous system feels safe, the metabolism responds, the exhaustion lifts slightly, weight begins to shift. The effort you have already been making finally starts to land.

3) Restore β€” energy and vitality return, not the version of you that copes, the version of you that thrives. Fully present for the work and the life and the people you have built everything around.

Most women are trying to Rebuild or Restore before they have Regulated. That is why nothing is shifting.

Your body hasn't forgotten how to heal, it simply needs the right conditions to begin.

Two ways to start:
1) The free Starter Kit β€” your constitutional picture, foundational practices, 4-week tracker. Begin tonight. You'll find it in my bio and comments
2) When you're ready to go deeper β€” a free 15-minute Connection Call. Also in my bio. πŸ’›

You used to be one of the sharpest person in the room. You still are, but something has changed, and you haven't been able to explain it, to your colleagues, to your doctor, or to yourself.
You forgot a word mid-sentence in a meeting, not a complicated word, a normal one, you reached for it and it wasn't there.
You read the same paragraph three times and retained nothing.
You walked into a room and stood there, genuinely unable to remember why you came.
You've been filing this under stress, under tiredness, under getting older.
Here is what your body is actually communicating.
The prefrontal cortex, responsible for memory, concentration, word retrieval and complex thinking, has more oestrogen receptors than almost any other region of the brain. As oestrogen fluctuates in perimenopause, the brain's access to its primary cognitive fuel becomes unreliable.
This is not a character failing, it is not burnout, it is not early dementia, which is the fear most women carry privately and rarely say out loud.
It is oestrogen fluctuation affecting a highly oestrogen-dependent organ, and it is compounded by the cortisol load of a nervous system in regulate, because chronic cortisol elevation also impairs memory consolidation and concentration.
What helps: regulating the nervous system first. Bringing cortisol down so the brain has the conditions it needs to function as it was designed to.
The cognitive symptoms are frequently the first thing women notice resolving as they move from Regulate into Rebuild.
Have you noticed changes in your memory or concentration that you haven't told anyone about?
Tell me below β€” you are not alone in this. πŸ’›
Not sure where you are? You'll find the free Starter Kit in my bio & comments β€” it gives you your constitutional picture and your first Regulate practices.

Most women don't need more information. They already know what they should be doing.

Eat well. Exercise. Sleep more. Reduce stress. Take the supplements.

The problem isn't usually a lack of knowledge. It's that their body is responding from a place that hasn't yet been understood.

I've learned that healing rarely begins with another protocol. It begins with asking better questions.

✨ What state is the nervous system in?

✨ What does your specific constitution need?

✨ What patterns has your body been carrying for years?

When we stop looking at symptoms in isolation, the picture often becomes much clearer.

This is why every Recalibration Reset begins with understanding before advising, because your body isn't working against you, it's communicating with you.

I'd love to knowβ€”what's one symptom you've been trying to solve that never seems to have a simple answer?

"I eat well, I exercise, I've tried eating less. Why am I still gaining weight in my 40s?"This is the question I receive...

"I eat well, I exercise, I've tried eating less. Why am I still gaining weight in my 40s?"
This is the question I receive more than any other. Swipe through for the full answer.
It's about understanding what your body is actually communicating, not a willpower conversation.
Your body is in Regulate β€” nervous system protection mode. In this state the metabolism cannot function optimally. Eating less deepens the threat signal. The body holds on harder.
The shift happens when you Regulate first β€” nervous system β€” then Rebuild β€” metabolism responds, weight begins to shift. Not through restriction. Through safety.

What question would you ask me if you could ask anything? Add it below.

Not sure which phase you're in?
