This morning, breath arrives.
An innate passage of life.
Arriving without permission
and leaving without announcement.

The first movement into being,
the final release into quiet.

Breath is not owned by any one experience.

It lives in the newborn and the elder.
In those who have birthed,
and those who have not.
In those who carry life through the body,
and those who carry it through care, creation, grief, endurance, and love.

Breath belongs to becoming.
To healing.
To surviving.
To learning how to live again after loss.

It is present in every quiet moment of growth,
unfolding beyond what can be seen.
Sustaining.
Steady.
Shared.

When breath is remembered as universal,
as the sacred hā connecting us all to Hine ahuone,
the vastness of life is honoured.
