Gig Buddies Cymru

Today buddies from Swansea and NPT had a relaxing day at Gnoll Park. Emma led the afternoon with some nature themed activities, we took a walk to the ruins, enjoyed a picnic and laughed under the shade of the trees. Quite a different vibe for us (usually a late and loud night!) but everyone enjoyed a more chilled day.

Lovely to have family and friends come along too - Gig buddies is all about connections!

🎶 Cawsom ni wrando ar gerddoriaeth anhygoel - o gerddoriaeth werin i bop, mi oedd ‘na rwbath at ddant pawb!

🍦 Roedd hi’n boeth iawn, felly wrth gwrs roedd rhaid cael hufen iâ!

🎤 Cawson ni fwynhau gweld Cydlynydd Ffrindiau Gigiau Gogledd Cymru, Malan, yn chwarae ei set - da iawn Malan!

Gig Buddies North Wales had a blast at Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau over the weekend 🌞

🎶 We listened to some amazing music, from folk music to pop music - the was something for everyone!

💃🏻 We got to see some amazing dance moves from Rob…see slide 6👀

🍦 It was a hot one - so an ice cream was obviously necessary!

🎤 We enjoyed watching Gig Buddies North Wales Coordinator Malan playing her set - go Malan!

😃…and we had a wonderful time enjoying the good vibes of Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau - we can’t wait to come back next year!

Big Love Festival wouldnt have been possible for gig buddies without the amazing support of Hannah. Hannah is the festival's access coordinator and she has been such a massive advocate for people with any support and access needs attending the festival.

Hannah personally contacts access customers to find out their needs before the festival and supports while here.

We are going to be working with Hannah over the next year to make it even better for people next year (although they have done a really great job this year!) Including producing an Easy Read guide for the website.

Day 4 Big Love Festival

Today is the day we head home 😭

💩 day 4 toilet update (just be thankful theres no photo!) 7/10 stink level!

🎪 about 1am we saw the Widows Rock n Rollium show..... wow! Burlesque, fire breathing, pole dancing and more (highly edited photos included)

🎸 chilled sunday vibes with some acoustic sets and a final wander around site.

🚿 day 4 of a festival in a heatwave with limited water has meant limited showers. Don't stand too close to anyone on day 4 🦨

🎒 our bags are packed, the wonderful team here helped us get our bags to car and we are sad to be leaving.

Big Love you have been amazing. Our first time at a festival, we have learnt a lot and are raring to go for next year!

Day 3 Big Love Festival

Today we were joined by Kai and Julie from Gig Buddies Cymru and Learning Disability Wales for some festival fun!

💩 the day 3 toilets are getting full.... bit of a stench today 6/10!

😌 time spent in the calm space today, beautiful space for anyone who needs some time out from the chaos of the main festival.

🍳 one lesson on how to use the camp stove and M & S made a beautiful curry and rice for lunch. Same again tomorrow please!

👫👬 today we hung out with some new festival friends, lovely to meet such lovely people!

🎤 tonight we are at the main stage watching the absolute legend that is PP Arnold.... she had a hit with 'the first cut is the deepest'

Day 2 Big Love Festival

Our first full day, it's been Hot Hot today! 28° most of the morning!

💩 compost toilet update, actually not as bad as you would expect, stink level about a 4/10

🎷 loads of live music today, from dance to orchestra and rock to novelty.

🚿 all of us braved the festival showers this morning, Dan even went in the cold water shower which was great after a sweaty night in the tent!

🌄 we enjoy a chilled out hour in the sunset field - defo going back to watch again tomorrow.

The night is young and so are we, caberet at midnight!

Day 1 Big Love Festival

Gig buddies from NPT have had the best first day at the Big Love Festival in Usk. Today was all about arriving, exploring and settling in.

💩 We learnt what a compost toilet actually smells like...... day 1 isnt too bad. Day 4 could be a different story!

⛺️ Picked our beds in our very nice bell tent.

🌭 Ate hotdogs for tea, cooked by the talented louise.

🛍 Bought some glow in the dark hoodies.

👩‍🦼 Accessibility support has been excellent.

Diolch to Big Love for giving people the opportunity to attend their first ever festival and camping trip!
