πŸ’™ June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.

As Africans for Mental Health (AFMH) enters its 9th year of service and impact, we're asking our community to help spread awareness about su***de prevention.

In partnership with Sheppard Pratt, we're offering FREE QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Su***de Prevention Trainings to help individuals recognize warning signs and respond when someone may be in crisis.

This month, we're challenging you to share this training opportunity with 9 men every week throughout June.

Too often, men struggle in silence and may not seek support until they are in crisis. Learning how to recognize warning signs and respond effectively can save lives.

πŸ’œ QPR teaches participants how to:
βœ” Recognize the warning signs of a su***de crisis
βœ” Question, persuade, and refer someone to help
βœ” Respond quickly and confidently in moments that matter

The training is open to all individuals 18 years and older and is especially valuable for family caregivers, community members, faith leaders, educators, and anyone who wants to support others.

πŸ“Œ Register here: africansformentalhealth.org/trainings

πŸ“’ This June, share this opportunity with 9 men this weekβ€”and 9 more each week throughout the month.

**Can we count on you?**

πŸ’™ Comment below and tag 9 men who would benefit from this opportunity.

πŸ“’ Then share this post to help us reach even more fathers, brothers, sons, friends, colleagues, mentors, and community leaders during Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.

Together, we can help create communities where men know they are seen, supported, and encouraged to seek help when they need it.

What an amazing day for mental wellness! πŸŒΏπŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Africans for Mental Health and Team Conquerors showed up in full force for the Mental Wellness Walk at Karura Forest, Gate C β€” hosted by Chiromo Hospital Group & Rural Electrification & Renewable Energy Corporation - Kenya (REREC) as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.

From the beginner-friendly nature walk, to the AFMH Mantra Challenge, to picnic conversations under the trees β€” every step was about community, healing, and showing up for each other.

Some highlights:
πŸ“Έ Smiles + Real talk about mental wellness during the walk
πŸŽ₯ Team Conquerors capturing the AFMH Mantra Challenge
🌳 New connections made over shared snacks and stories
πŸ• Even pets and bikes joined the movement!

For 8 years, Team Conquerors has walked for mental health and su***de prevention. This year felt extra special as AFMH steps into our 9th year of impact.

Our AFMH Mantra:
β€œI am Africans for Mental Health and my journey to Mental Wellness is Going for Walks.”

Thank you to Chiromo Hospital Group, REREC, every volunteer, parent, and participant who made it safe, joyful, and meaningful. And to Team Conquerors Kenya β€” you continue to inspire us.

Swipe through the photos to feel the energy πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

We’re already counting down to the next one. Because mental health is community health.

Who walked with us? Tag yourself! Who’s joining next time? πŸ™‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‹πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ
