I am a maternity nurse, lactation consultant (IBCLC) and prenatal teacher. I worked on the maternity unit welcoming babies into the world for most of my nursing career until I had my precious little boy in 2020. Although my son was the best thing that has ever happened to me, his arrival, and the postpartum period with him really shook up my life. Two months after his birth, the world went into fu

ll shutdown for the pandemic. It was at this time I learned how important a village was because mine was stripped away. After the first year of my motherhood experience, I realized it can be one of the most isolating and lonely times in a parent’s life. And I know that’s hard to talk about, because while we absolutely adore our children, and love parenthood, sometimes it just sucks (and that’s okay). I knew there was something I could do to help new mothers who don’t have that village. Whether its lack of support, not having family close by, or just needing someone who “gets it” we all deserve support and community in this new season of life. My mission is to support you.

Feeding isn’t always the same, even from one baby to the next 🤍

I saw a mama today who had a smooth first feeding journey…

so this time, when things weren’t improving, and actually felt like they were getting harder… it felt confusing, defeating, and honestly a little unexpected.

And I see this all the time in my work as an IBCLC.

Every baby has a unique feeding journey.
There’s beauty in that — especially for those who didn’t get the experience they hoped for the first time.

But there’s also truth in this:
sometimes the next journey needs more support.

And that doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

Every baby is different.
Every feeding journey is different.
And support isn’t just for first-time moms.

It also doesn’t have to be something you only seek out once things feel really hard.

✨ Feeding support doesn’t have to be reactionary.

If something feels off, harder than expected, or just different, you deserve support in that too.

Over the next couple of months, I’ll be seeing a limited number of clients each week.

Hi mamas 🤍

I’m going to be canceling this month’s Nips & Sips Social, scheduled for April 2nd at 10:30. It’s been a really full couple of weeks and I’m not feeling my best, and I always want to show up fully for this special group 🫶🏼

I know it might seem like I’ve been a bit quieter lately, but I’ve been working on a lot behind the scenes 🤍

I recently completed advanced training through the IBCLC Masterclass, further expanding my clinical expertise in assessing oral function and supporting infants with oral ties.

Supporting families through oral tie challenges is such an important part of my work. These journeys can be complex, and I care deeply about providing support that is not only evidence-based, but also allows parents to know their options, next steps, and how they will be supported the entire journey.

I also collaborate closely with oral health providers to support families through the full frenectomy process. From private consults for preparation to post-release feeding support, because it can be a stressful journey and consistent support changes everything.

As an IBCLC, I’m committed to ongoing education and staying current with evolving research, so the families I support receive thoughtful, up-to-date care every step of the way.

I’ve now been included in the IBCLC Masterclass “Find a Provider” directory for providers in Alberta with this training, which is an exciting milestone. 🫶

I’m incredibly thankful for the families who trust me as their Lactation Consultant, and so excited to continue supporting families with feeding in Grande Prairie and beyond 🤍
