One of the hardest things I witnessed during my mom's cancer journey was watching her almost talk herself out of the path that saved her life.
She was sitting with all of that quietly while I was trying to understand why she seemed hesitant about something that felt so clearly right for her.
The conversation that finally opened everything up was not a medical one. It was a simple question I asked her at the kitchen table: what is actually holding you back?
What came out of that conversation changed everything. She told me the truth, that she was worried her retirement fund should be left for me, that she did not want her death to be blamed on my guidance as her holistic practitioner. I was heartbroken and I was grateful at the same time. Heartbroken that she had been carrying all of that alone. Grateful that she finally said it out loud.
I told her no amount of money would be worth a single day without her. The family concern, I said, was mine to carry, not hers.
She made her decision that day.
Within months she was in complete remission.
That conversation is one of the reasons this book exists. Because the blocks that stop people from choosing their right path are not always medical. They are emotional, financial, relational. And they need to be spoken before a real decision can be made.
If you or someone you love is navigating a diagnosis right now, Stop Cancer Overwhelm was written to help you have those conversations and find your way to the path that is actually right for you.
