👂 👂 Just before you conclude your marriage 💍

What best describes this marriage?

🔕 5 Years of Painful Silence In Marriage 🔕
Or
❤️‍🔥The Breath of Marriage❤️‍🔥

▶️ I knew my marriage had ended the day we stopped arguing.

▶️ I knew our marriage was over the moment we stopped having little conflicts to solve.
I knew there was trouble when our home became too quiet and our bed felt like a rock against my back.

▶️ That was when I knew the end had come. People often think marriages end with slammed doors, raised voices, or a signature on divorce papers.

▶️ I laugh. But ours didn't.

▶️ Our own marriage died quietly.
It died in the unanswered "how was your day?"

▶️ It died when we sat at the table and we didn't talk to each other, but we were busy staring at our phones. It died in the hugs we stopped giving because we convinced ourselves we were both too tired.

▶️ So we became experts at existing together without truly living together.
Of course, he knew how I loved my food, I knew where he kept his car keys. We knew each other's routines. But we no longer know each other's hearts.

▶️ At times at night, I would deliberately stay awake, hoping he would notice or ask me any questions, but he never did.
Sometimes, he would sit in the living room long after everyone had gone to bed, I'd just walk past him and never ask why he was sitting alone doing nothing.

▶️ Of course, I haven't stopped caring for him, but somewhere along the line, caring started feeling like begging. Our children thought we had the perfect marriage. After all, they never heard us fight.

▶️ Our neighbours admired us. I remember our friends called us "relationship goals." I'd just look at them and fake a smile.
Nobody knew we had become two lonely people sharing one house.

▶️ Then one Thursday evening, I found our old wedding album when I was looking for a document in the shelf.

▶️ I smiled through tears as I flipped through the pages. They were beautiful pictures, there we were laughing, holding hands, looking at each other as if nothing else in the world mattered.

▶️ The pictures reminded me of the sweet beginning we had, but has faded unaware. I closed the album and looked toward the sitting room where he was watching television.

▶️ And for the first time in years, I realised something heartbreaking. I wasn't living with the man in those pictures anymore.
And neither was he living with the woman he married.

▶️ We had both disappeared, only our bodies remained. That night, I finally gathered the courage to speak.

▶️ "I miss us," I got up and told him, touching his shoulder.

▶️ He looked at me for a long time, his eyes were filled with tears. Then he said something that shattered me. "I've been waiting five years for you to say those words."

▶️ Five years!

▶️ Five years of both of us grieving the same marriage. Five years of both of us believing the other had stopped caring. Five years of sleeping beside someone who was silently praying for exactly what we both wanted.

▶️ Five years of craving sincere connection, not separation. We both wanted love, not emotional distance.
It wasn't hatred that almost destroyed our marriage, it was two wounded hearts waiting for the other person to make the first move.

▶️ Sometimes, the biggest tragedy in a relationship isn't that love disappeared. It's that love stayed, but silence brought distance

▶️ I have seen this happen more times than I can count. Many relationships do not end because two people stop loving each other, they end because fear replaces vulnerability, assumptions replace conversations, and silence replaces connection.

▶️ If your home has become painfully quiet, don't keep waiting for your partner to make the first move. Someone has to be brave enough to interrupt the silence.

▶️ See, at times, the marriage you're mourning isn't dead, it's simply waiting for one honest conversation to breathe again...✍🏻

❓ Divorce: A Choice or A Necessity? ❓

Some see it as a conscious choice made when a relationship no longer serves personal growth. Others view it as an absolute necessity—the only way to escape toxicity and protect one's peace.

Where do you stand on this? Can it be both?
