Hi all, most of you are aware that my work commitments in Sydney have meant I've had to scale back my once-a-month rural trip. Dr Jim Stacey, a fellow DAME-pilot, is now flying in to Dubbo on a regular basis to conduct pilot medicals. He also services Moree and Narrabri.

This is a post to say I am a DAME/DAME2 and am conducting CASA aviation medicals in Dubbo and Tamworth on a regular basis. I am based in Port Macquarie NSW the rest of the time.

Next dates for Tamworth: Thursday 25 June 2026 Thursday 23 July 2026

Next dates for Dubbo Tuesday 23 June 2026, Friday 24 July 2026

If your medical is due for renewal I’d love to meet you at opposite ends of a stethoscope! I am accredited to do Class 1,2 and 3 medicals and to issue uncomplicated Class 2 medicals on the spot (DAME2). I bring all the equipment necessary, including to do hearing tests and ECG, and can email you blood test requests prior (if required).

Dear Aviators,

Given the worsening COVID situation where I’m based here in Sydney I have made the decision to suspend my monthly rural aviation medicine clinic trips until we see some improvement.

I am hoping CASA AvMed will issue an extension to medicals in a similar fashion to the one issued last year.

In the meantime, please stay safe, get vaccinated at the soonest possible opportunity, and I look forward to seeing you all again as soon as possible. I will let you know when I resume my monthly trips.

I’ve just spent a very enjoyable two weeks at Fly Oz in Cowra re-learning all the things I’m supposed to know as an instrument rated pilot, and now I can teach instrument ratings!

Our favourite DAME, Jeremy Robertson also completed our Flight Instructor , Instrument training endorsement course this week and successfully taught Lyn how to fly a variety of instrument approaches!
