I have 12 years of experience working on people in the US and Costa Rica. I am also a life long horse enthusiast. I have recently turned my attention to the study of Equine massage and body work, applyin

g my techniques and concepts to the Equine body. Horses, like humans can suffer from muscle and joint pain from injury or overuse. They do not complain as much as humans and there for do not always get the same attention and care they need. If after a long ride you are feeling stiff and sore the next day, you can bet your Equine friend is feeling it also. Thats where Equine Muscle Therapy comes in. I come to your farm, asses the patient to determine the cause of discomfort and procede with the appropriate therapy. I also show you stretched and techniques you can do on your own to help maintain your horses health and flexibility. Signs:
If you notice anything out of the ordinary with your horse like having trouble with certain gaits, movements, suden or random aggression, limping, wheezing, excessive head shaking or pawing ect... These can be signs of muscle spasm or misalignment of the muscles or joints and can be easily corrected with the appropriate therapy.

Here you can see the horses left hip is clearly lower then the right. What you can’t see is that the horses right hip is rotated forward as well. And the horses left eye is higher then the right. What does this mean? The cranium and the pole are rotated and the pelvis is actually counter rotating to compensate. So the pelvis was not the issue at all. It was the scull. See the next image to see how the pelvis looks after a cranial adjustment. ➡️

Here you can see the difference in the pelvic alignment once we aligned the cranium and the pole. It changes the entire posture of the horse. Had we only adjusted the pelvis, it would go right back out of alignment. That’s why we always work in alignment with the priority of the nervous system and not just what appears to be the “obvious” issue.

Before / Antes

Right eye slightly higher then left. Right nostril higher then left. The horses ears are back and it is unable to hold its head in a straight natural position. This is an indication of atlas subluxation and cranial compression.

When you see this you can know this horse will likely struggle to lift its top line and engage its hind legs. It will struggle to collect correctly, it will struggle on one lead vs the other and possibly demonstrate an absent or checked out demeanor that can come across as irritable and grumpy when pet or touched. This is a sign of discomfort not a bad attitude.

The eyes are balanced, the nostrils are balanced. The head sits in a natural position, the ears and eyes are engaged, the horse is present and shows a lighter more engaged demeanor.

Cómo por ejemplo conceptos de la fisiología energética del cuerpo, principios de la medicina china, técnicas manuales para alinear el cuerpo de manera estructural sin fuerza y la concesión de mente y cuerpo.
