You guys I really want to make fun posts about horse show sessions and where I’m going to be working ….. but my brain is absolutely consumed with getting the arena up and trying to make a Banana proof situation out here so I can enjoy and finally, for the love of god finally , show my yellow horse.

I’m going to assume no one out there is looking at my page wondering where my horse show posts are, but I feel the pressure! My peers and colleagues are both inspiring and giving me FOMO as I battle fence posts. All this to say, I’m still here, I’m just head down focused on getting this done once and for all! See you on the other side of the fence (see what I did there).

As a bodyworker it is so cool to see clients performing. Seeing this horse fit, tuned in and doing his job is rewarding! With horses and humans I truly believe that movement and strength are the keys to success. Massage and bodywork can have profound impacts on the body but the real bread and butter happens in the day to day where you build your foundation!

At midnight she will officially be a yearling . Time absolutely flies. Their progression as young horses is both so slow in the waiting, but so fast. She’s still a baby but in my mind I’m planning her fall dental to prepare her to be started. Banana will officially be a 3 year old in a month, yet in my mind he’s been 3 for a few months; the subconscious pressure of time is something to keep in check with these youngsters. They don’t know they’re living on my timeline. Grateful isn’t a large enough word to describe how I feel to my mares for giving me these babies, how I feel to have two such healthy, happy, talented horses in my herd and my future.

Had another session with this horse today, was happy to see that his pectoral balance remained from last time. His releases were full and expressive. He let me work closer to his most guarded area (c1/2 and TMJ). We built some trust, learned that it doesn’t always have to hurt, found some nerve compression and jokingly, but quite seriously, worked through some childhood trauma. This was his 3rd or 4th session and the onion layers keep coming off.

Same, but different.

Always looking for the resistance. Knowing origin and insertion. Thinking fascial lines. Repetitive motion. Pin and stretch. Long fascial release.

Through the past 15 years of bettering my knowledge and getting my hands & brain through thousands of treatments I have identified paths that I naturally look to when problems come to me.

The most common is the sore upper shoulder/back and sharp pain in the neck. 🤔 Have a horse that is stiff, reactive and takes a long time to warm up. Resistant to collecting and feels short in the front. Remember what you feel like when you woke up with that neck and it was an ache in your shoulder blade by the end of the day.

🫶 it’s not a miracle it’s just applying the right amount of the appropriate technique where needed. Just like when you get off the table and say “oh that’s so much better” and I have to remind you Motion Is Lotion and to come see me again in the next 2 weeks to maintain the momentum we gained.
