“Los 3 Sabores De’ Fredy,” -- I really like living in my neighborhood, , not only because it is a great location, but one can find all types of food: for example there is a small 1 ½ blocks from my apartment that really has some great tasty Cuban food and it is not very expensive. I go there often, at least twice a week for either lunch or dinner. The food is great, cooked when ordered and the service is very timely and friendly.

The owner of the place is – Fredy Alberto Martinez – who is originally from Guatemala and has made Mexico City home now for several years. Though the place is known for Cuban food, one can also have Mexican and Guatemalan food as well which is why the place is called the Los 3 Sabores De’ Fredy (The Tree Tastes of Fredy).

I highly recommend this place and please do ask for Fredy to say hello for he will accommodate you well. And do tell him you read about his place on my FB page. PS: I get no commission!!! LOL

For more information: do a Google search - Los 3 Sabores de Fredy.

Living in Mexico City – I have eaten a lot of Pozole BUT the other day, I had the BEST Pozole I ever here in Mexico City at a place called: “El Pozole de Moctezuma.” Pozole Moctezuma is not a located in regular restaurant or café, but in an apartment located in a normal looking building where people live. Arriving at the address, I wasn’t sure I was at the right location until I read the buzzer on the building where I read, “POZOLE.”

I tried the green pozole because this place specializes …”in pozole from the state of Guerrero, which is typically made with a green broth based on tomatillos, a small, green, tomato-like fruit with an oniony skin and a puckeringly tart flavor.”

Too, El Pozole de Moctezuma is located in Mexico City’s Col. Guerrero and is across the street from Plaza Garibaldi – yes the place with all the Mariachis are found. Place has been in business since 1947 – that’s 73 YEARS AND, AND get this: OPEN only from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Monday – Saturday.

A MUST stop for POZOLE lovers: more information, read the article written by BEN HERRERA: https://culinarybackstreets.com/cities-category/mexico-city/2014/el-pozole-de-moctezuma/

Suddenly street food is cool. Perhaps it’s a reaction to lofty trends like molecular gastronomy, vegetable foams and chefs in lab coats. People are ready for more accessible cooking. Some call it street food. Hugo Ortega, a home-schooled chef from Mexico, presents the most recent and best book on the topic in “Street Food of Mexico.”

"El Pozole de Moctezuma," a soup house that’s been in business in Mexico City since 1947! I love this part, "The only indication that this is the right place is a call button on a panel at the main entrance with the single word “pozole” listed on it."

A look at the traditional Mexican soup pozole and a review of a 65-year-old pozoleria that is one of the best places in Mexico City to try the dish
