I've been formulating essential oils for over a decade. Last week, a question from a client made me realize most facilities have never actually asked it.
A chef at a senior living facility messaged me directly. He wasn't asking about diffusers or aromatherapy programs. He asked if our oils could be used in food. He wanted to infuse a specific oil into a dish he was preparing for residents, something that would bring a little more warmth and intention to a meal, not just a flavor.
My answer: YES. And honestly, I loved that he asked.
Our essential oils are formulated to meet food-grade purity standards — sourced, distilled, and vetted with the same rigor whether the oil ends up in a diffuser running quietly in a common room, applied topically for a resident's comfort, or in select formulas, folded into something on a plate. That's not a marketing claim. It's the standard the formulation has to clear before it ever leaves our hands.
Here's the question that comes out of that, and it's one I don't think enough directors and facility leaders are asking: if a product isn't clean enough to be trusted at the table, what standard is it actually being held to in the air your residents and staff breathe every single day?
Purity isn't a feature we add on top. It's the foundation everything else at AromaWell is built on. That's the gap I started this company to close.
Do you actually know what's in the products running in your space right now? I'd genuinely like to know. Drop it below and I'll tell you exactly what to look for. 👇
