Tough liam

Tough liam Liam has Autism, neurofibromatosis , gtube , Liam is a very medical complex child. This is Liam and he was born at 33 weeks.

Liam has CLD, Seizures, Asthma, Neurifibromatosis, brain tumors and optic nerve tumors',plexus form tumors, Dyspixa(asperation) speech and language delays as well as learning. Liam is now three years old and has shown us what a true fighter really is. Liam takes several medications daily. Please follow him and lend your prayers of support and encouraging words.

Back at the ER! Liam had a significant prolapse with his stoma. They have got it back in some, we we were told it is normal and it looks healthy. However every time he moves it comes out more then goes back in. This boy has been through so much since June. Waiting on doctors to make decisions on what they want to do. I’m saying let us go home( if it’s normal) and we will get use to it coming in and out. Also, he has an appointment with the Stoma clinic Tuesday.

We are home and Liam is sleeping. The ER doctors phone consulted the Neurology doctor at Riley who increased one of Liam’s seizure medications, which means he is completely maxed out on all 3 medications, they also said they would come down to the ER to see us but it wouldn’t do any good because it wouldn’t change their course of treatment, and we needed to get a hold of his Neurologist at Nationwide Children’s.
I had already sent and left a voice message to them so hopefully we will hear from them tomorrow.

This surgery has been the roughest so far. Last night Lynzee was cleaning Liam’s Stoma and realized he has 30! Stitches no wonder he hurts. He does have a slight fever and still gets tired real easy But also has bursts of energy. Saturday will be 7 days post op so We are praying he starts feeling better real soon. He tried to go back to school Tuesday and fell asleep twice and complained of his belly hurting His teacher said it was just not him. So he’s been resting a lot.

Home again! I asked Liam if he could try to stay away from the hospital for longer then a week His response was “I’ll try”.

He is sore and restricted to no gym and no lifting for 4 weeks including his back pack.

It’s been a hell of a time since July 14. We are hopeful that Liam can start recovering to the fullest now.

His Urodynamics testing has now been rescheduled until sometime in September with everything that has gone on, the urologist wants him to heal. While in the hospital it took Liam 13 hours to p*e and when he finally did he p*ed over 800 cc. So we will definitely be glad when he can get that testing done.

We are in a room and getting much need rest. The surgery took almost two hours. They removed a” small portion of the intestine (stoma)
And sending it off to pathology. The surgeon said the prolapse was really big and stuck and he had to pull hard to even get it to move. Liam is in a lot more pain this time around and his heart rate is showing it. The goal is to go on feedings and food tomorrow morning and see how he does and how his output is. And he wasn’t making no promises on discharge but 1-5 days. He did say Liam’s healing time might be different this time. He has some stitches around the stoma. Liam went from a loop Ileostomy ( which means it like a curve that had two openings and two pieces of intestines and could have been temporary. Now he has what is called end Ileostomy which means a portion of his bowel was removed and now there is only one opening. And is or can be permanent. The surgeon said he has no idea why this happened , it just happens sometimes about 1% of new Ostomy patients need a revision within the first 6 months. Well Mr. Liam was 4 weeks and three days out from surgery. Currently he is curled around a pillow to make his tummy feel better.

When we came out to the ER to get Liam checked out the last thing we thought would be he would have to have emergency surgery but here we are. It didn’t take long for them to decided it either. One of the surgeons tried to manually work his stoma back in, she looked at the door and in walked the head surgeon that informed us that Liam’s Stoma was unhealthy it was turning dark purple and was over 55mm round. Liam’s original surgery was called a loop Ileostomy and it is being revised to an End Ileostomy which can be more permanent he will also have a small portion of bowel removed. They are going to use his same opening so hopefully recovery will be so much easier. Since July 14th he has had a very hard time and has spent more time inpatient then at home. Liam is doing better tonight, he has two appointments tomorrow and back to school on Thursday. We are resharing the fundraiser the funds will be used solely on Liam’s needs, There are medications that his insurance has denied the PA on also today we found out we will need to buy his Ostomy supplies due to insurance only using one company called J and B medical who are claiming they haven’t received a script for Liam’s supplies then said they only received half of a script and it could stop take a couple weeks.
