🌟 A Historic Step Towards Inclusive Education!

Today, Leroy Bones Foundation and Good Shepherd AGC Church/School officially signed an MOU to establish an Inclusive Learning Hub a demonstration model that will support children with diverse learning needs and inspire other schools to embrace inclusion.

Together, we are creating a future where every child belongs, learns, and thrives.

We thank the leadership of Good Shepherd AGC Church and School for partnering with us to make this vision a reality.

📚♿ Kenya’s Persons with Disabilities Act clearly states that all children have the right to inclusive education and that schools should provide reasonable accommodation and support for learners with disabilities.

Yet, months after the law was passed, many children with disabilities are still being turned away from schools, learning without support, or left out because institutions are not prepared for inclusion.

Inclusive education cannot remain a policy on paper while families continue to struggle alone. Schools need trained teachers, accessible environments, assistive devices, and practical implementation of the law. Most importantly, children with disabilities need to be seen as deserving of the same opportunities as every other child.

At Leroy Bones Foundation, we continue to advocate for action, accountability, and inclusive learning spaces where every child belongs. The law has already spoken — now implementation must follow. 💙

Through our Tusome Pia Program, Leroy Bones Foundation supports children with neurodevelopmental disabilities to access education and learning opportunities because every child deserves the same chance to learn and thrive.

While many people choose to support children because they are already seen as bright or high performing, we believe children should also be supported simply because they deserve equal opportunities. Inclusion begins when every child is given a chance.

**May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚**

Today, we shine a light on the silent battles many caregivers of children with disabilities face every single day.

A few weeks ago, a mother reached out to us in distress. Her 4-year-old son had experienced a meltdown and was unable to sleep the entire night. She stayed up with him trying to comfort and calm him while also caring for her 1-year-old baby.

By morning, she was completely exhausted… physically, emotionally, and mentally.
She had no support system around her. No one to step in. No moment to rest.

Her call to us wasn’t just about her child, it was a cry for help for *herself*.

This is the reality for many caregivers.
Behind every strong mother is often untold fatigue, anxiety, isolation, and overwhelming responsibility.

As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s remember:
💚 Caregivers need care too
💚 Support systems are not a luxury—they are a necessity

At Leroy Bones Foundation, we look forward to fully setting up our **Wellbeing Centre**, which will provide much-needed psychological support to caregivers—because their mental health matters just as much.
