When Archana Khalkho was born, no one came to see her. She was a girl child, and in her village, that was not a reason to celebrate.

She grew up in a Chhattisgarh village where village meetings were for men only, where women were expected to stay silent, and where the most common path for young people was to leave for cities like Delhi and Mumbai and work as labourers.

Archana had a different dream. She wanted to study nursing.

When people around her found out, the question they asked was not how they could support her. It was: what will she achieve by doing nursing?

She found her answer at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Institute of Nursing and Allied Healthcare Sciences, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. A place that looked at a girl from a tribal village and saw exactly what she was: someone ready to step out and change everything.

When Atharv was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition, his family's focus was on helping him receive the care he needed.
