Independence starts with the everyday. Through our Activities of Daily Living services, CALI staff work side-by-side with clients on mobility training, personal hygiene, home organization, and money management. Adults with disabilities experience health disparities and are more likely to report various health challenges than those without a disability. In California, 40% of adults with disabilities report experiencing depression, compared to 12% of adults without disabilities. Martha Flores, Community Outreach Worker, had the opportunity to discuss how CALI supports independence and empowers disabled adults living with intellectual disabilities to maximize their full potential in the home environment in San Diego County.
