📣The free local Aging Well Conference in Chatham-Kent takes place today, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club (25393 St. Clair St., Dover Centre, ON). It features a brunch buffet, expert presentations, and the announcement of the 2026 Chatham-Kent Senior of the Year.

“Needing help doesn't mean you stop having something to give.”

📣Today, 14 Chatham-Kent seniors are being recognized for the difference they continue to make in our community.

And I think that's an important reminder about how we talk about aging.
Someone can need help getting dressed and still have wisdom to share.💫
Someone can no longer drive and still be the person everyone calls for advice.💫
Someone can live with dementia and still laugh, love, contribute and matter.💫
Care should never become the only thing we see when we look at a person.💙🫂

Lots of fun for families and kiddos.
It is 2 hours away but if you are passionate on this subject or have cared for family and would love to support CSI or get supports in future from CSI this event is for you!

Something exciting has been happening behind the scenes at LifeWays Care Team! 💙

Big things are coming… 👀

I’ve been working on a plan to connect and partner with like-minded local businesses, professionals and community services right here in Chatham-Kent.

Because caring for others is a team effort, no matter how you look at it.

I’m excited to share that LifeWays Care Team is partnering with Trusty Triage , whose specialty services include wound management and many other services. Therapy With Hart Registered Therapy services that both can provide additional support to seniors and their families.

This is exactly what I want to continue building—trusted connections with professionals who bring different skills and services to the table.

No one person, family, caregiver or business can do everything—and we shouldn’t have to.

My goal is to build a trusted local network where we can support one another, share resources and make referrals with confidence.

When a senior or family needs something outside of what LifeWays offers, I want to be able to say, “I know someone who can help.”

It’s not about doing everything ourselves. It’s about working together, filling the gaps and making things a little easier for seniors and the people who love and care for them.

Because at the end of the day, care is a team effort—and you don’t have to figure it out alone. 🧡

It’s funny how business works sometimes. You spend time setting up websites, phone lines, and official channels, but some of the most meaningful connections happen when you’re just out in the community, least expecting it.
​Having someone approach me in public to say they’ve been following our work online and are ready to connect for support was such a rewarding reminder: the seeds we plant every day really do reach the people who need them.

ONTARIO HEALTH CARE NEWS: Nearly $75 million is being directed toward the LTC workforce🩺💉💊🩹🩼

RECENT POLICY/FUNDING — August 21: Ontario announced nearly $75 million for long-term-care workforce education and training. Among the investments are $18 million over three years intended to help about 6,000 people complete PSW training and $22.5 million over three years for the BEGIN program, which helps PSWs and RPNs advance toward nursing credentials. 🪪

“Training the next generation of PSWs matters. So does teaching them what experienced PSWs have learned that isn't written in the textbook.” 💛

One of the biggest mistakes a caregiver can make is waiting too long to ask for help. Caregiving is a continuous journey, and reaching out for support along the way isn't a sign of weakness—it's an essential part of the process.
