Jodi Mann Acupuncture

Jodi Mann Acupuncture Acupuncture for sensitive systems and busy minds. That journey informs every treatment I give. In my practice, you’ll find care that unfolds at your pace.

I offer acupuncture as a gentle way to support not only physical healing, but also emotional clarity and inner connection. My work supports those navigating pain, stress, nervous system dysregulation, hormonal changes, and the quieter layers of disconnection that often go unseen. Before becoming a practitioner, I walked through many of these experiences myself — chronic pain, people-pleasing, burn

out, and the slow process of unlearning what I thought I had to be. I understand healing not as a fix, but as a return — to yourself, to your rhythm, to what matters. There’s room for all of you here — even the parts still finding their voice.

“The mind leads the Qi, the Qi leads the Blood”

A Qigong principle which describes how our mind influences the energy in our body that ultimately inspires us into movement and action. Blood’s function is to nourish our bones, skin, muscles, fascia, tendons, and brain. Blood relies on Qi (bio-electricity) circulating through our system to move and push it into all the tiny cracks and crevices throughout our bodies. So without our mind inspiring us to move, the blood isn’t going to be coursing efficiently to all the places it needs to go. This is where we can end up feeling achy, stiff, heavy and stuck. I suppose this is another way of saying “where attention goes, energy flows”.

As I get older, I become more aware of what moves me, and I now know to look for resonance. That feeling of joy, creativity, expansion and possibility. In those moments there is no questioning, there is simply clarity and connection. And when I feel stuck, those glimmers are my cue to move toward whatever THAT was. As someone that has a lot of body stiffness, I have to keep the Blood flowing, and it always begins with the mind.

Pro-tip: it works in reverse too, you don’t have to wait for that perfect lightning bolt of inspiration. When the mind is stuck, moving the body and getting the Qi flowing brings Blood to the brain and helps bring new perspectives to old problems.

“The condition of modernity and tragedy are based on two things: separation from nature and distrust of our emotions.”
~ Stephen Toulmin

This quote was introduced to me in my first semester of acupuncture school by one of my favourite teachers, Peter Conway. It resonated immediately.

At the time, I was already starting to recognize the ways I had become disconnected from my body, from my environment, and from my own emotional landscape. Reading these words confirmed something I already knew but hadn’t fully named and acted as a recalibration in a sense. The quote comes from Cosmopolis by Stephen Toulmin, a book that looks at how we’ve come to think and live the way we do.

In my home clinic, I have a vintage message board where I share quotes like this. Words that have guided me through different chapters of my life. You could call me impressionable, but I can point to more than a few phrases that have quietly shaped the decisions I’ve made, and the direction I’ve taken.

Some stay up for a few days, others for a few weeks. However long it takes.

Because the ones that matter usually aren’t one-time insights, they’re reminders I need to come back to, again and again.
I’ll be sharing more of these from my clinic as they go up. What are some of your favourite quotes?

I’m excited to share that starting April 6th, I’ll be bringing my acupuncture practice to Metchosin, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

You’ll find me at Metchosin Wellness Collective (4495 Happy Valley Road) on Mondays and Fridays, nestled inside the old Metchosin Elementary School. It’s a special space, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a really beautiful place to do this work.

I’ll still be at my home clinic in Esquimalt on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, so nothing changes there for those of you who already come to see me on those days.

If you’ve been curious about acupuncture, or if Metchosin is simply closer to home, I’d love to welcome you. Spots are available now, link in bio to book at either location. 🌿
