Your body isn’t failing you. It’s operating under a completely different set of rules than it was ten years ago — and nobody told you that.

Estrogen loss changes everything. Your tendons, your connective tissue, your recovery, your inflammatory baseline. The effort that used to build you up is now the thing breaking you down.

This is not about doing less. It’s about being smarter than the version of you that could just push through anything.

Drop what issue is in your tissue right now. 👇

As an Italiana gal, I’ve always loved the

I hadn’t gotten my motorcycle license a few years ago but because I’m only 5’3” and 125 lbs, I never felt comfortable on something so big.

But I loved the feeling of the wind in my hair and a little rev of an engine…

So, it was time and I purchased my mint green girl!

Some men have midlife crises at this age….me, in my true fashion, is having a midlife bike glow up ✨

She’s opened to names if you could think of any!

Drop the first name that comes to you in the comments!!!

Estrogen doesn’t just affect your hot flashes. It controls how your brain signals thirst. When estrogen drops in perimenopause, your thirst threshold rises… meaning you won’t feel thirsty until you’re already dehydrated. By then your hypothalamus is already struggling and your vasomotor symptoms are already firing. I’ve been hitting 80oz every day for 4 days and have had zero night sweats and zero hot flashes… even after running in 90 degree heat with high humidity. You can’t trust thirst in perimenopause. You have to drink on a schedule.

Women in perimenopause are chronically dehydrated!

Our brain (hypothalamus) is our internal thermostat. Estrogen triggers this part of the brain to have thirst when the blood changes.

The hypothalamus is what controls our heat / cold sensors and becomes faulty during perimenopause.

Each hot flash can dump 50-100ml of fluid leaving us even more depleted.
Even if you’re not thirsty, DRINK!!!

Let’s do a fluid challenge for the next week! 80-100oz per day for the next week.

Comment DRINK if you’re in.

What 3 symptoms of perimenopause got you wondering who kidnapped your body?

Mine was a new smell, loss of strength and unanticipated rage.

Good times. Good times.

Perimenopause is a real joy.

As a Functional Nutrition Practitioner who specializes in treating perimenopausal and menopausal women, I run a series of labs before I ever make a healing plan (diet, rest, exercise, stress reduction and supplementation) with anyone.

DUTCH helps us look at hormones, cortisol, gut markers and more.

GI Map looks at the microbiome and assess any imbalances (including fat absorption, gluten and more!)

MRT tests your blood against 176 different foods and chemicals and assesses their inflammation reaction.

Metabolic profile includes more inflammatory gut markers.

This is what connecting the dots and outliers look like….

I just HAD TO!!!

This brings me back to my dance days. My years of teaching Fitness, my love of Michael Jackson and my time on Ushers OMG tour as his Health Manager…who doesn’t love an iconic dance song turned fun meme?

Just call me the “dancing doctor” ….yes, I’ve been known to take dance breaks with my patients in the waiting room!

A new study just showed that women in their 40s need to care more about their blood sugar then ever before. It is a predictor of hot flashes through menopause. Wearing a continuous glucose monitor can be an incredible asset for collecting data.

A new study came out in Jan 2026 on using the different kinds of Acupuncture for perimenopausal symptoms.
Turns out ear acupuncture aka auricular acupuncture works best for sleep issues.
ELECTROACUPUNCTURE works best for anxiety related perimenopausal symptoms.
Overall best use is with Moxabustion... the act of burning mugwort over the respective acupuncture points.
BUT
So, if you are going to an
Acupunctuist for Perimenopausal symptoms, here’s your cheat sheet. If you’re an Acupuncturist, here’s to treating more women in perimenopause efficiently!
