Apothecary is a burgeoning concept based on a reverence for the physician and pharmacist archetypes and their sacred connection to our health, incorporating an appreciation for science, ancient wisdom, alchemy, and modern (energy) medicine. The spirit behind this idea is inherited through Maria's grandfather, James Merlin McGuire, a mycologist who led Eli Lily's research team to isolate Erythromycin from a raw material. Maria specializes in Deep Pressure massage, Sports Massage and Bodywork, energy work (Reiki Master), and is working toward certification in CranioSacral Therapy. A Criminal Justice major from Indiana University (2002), she balances investigative analytical skills with a creative and intuitive approach with regard to her work in massage (since 2007). Additionally, Maria is a trained contemporary modern, tribal fusion and aerial acrobatic dancer. She holds a certificate in Personal Training and applies unique approaches to self-care and maintenance, and functional training. Maria Kateri is currently integrating in Munich Germany. If I had only found this a long time ago... I used the 10 point pain scale, 1 being bliss and 10 being death. Enjoy!

In my experience, circus artists seem to experience and discuss pain in a different manner than the general population. As such, I will be adopting a new pain scale for use in my clinic. Enjoy 😉

The big news I've been waiting to share for 3 years! The details are slowly crystallizing in the 11th hour, but if you know me, it's no surprise! The next posts will be namely about selling off most of my stuff, and offering healing bodywork sessions (the work calms me down!), and lamenting leaving behind this great community for the great unknown. xoxoxo

Energy medicine master-teacher, woo hoo!!!

Ok, I'm ready to come out now:

For the last 10 years, I've been an Usui Reiki practitioner and student, and since last year, a master. On Sunday, I graduated with master-teacher of Holy Fire, Karuna Reiki, and Usui credentials. The Holy Fire is a very new experience, for most earthlings, since last year. Yes, there are flames coming out of my hands now. In fact, I'm completely engulfed, in a very cool, breezy, gentle, ethereal way. If you are intrigued to receive or learn more, just ask for it, and the energy seems to work on its own.

New Years Resolutions.... or not? The wisdom of the little child and his imaginary tiger affirm my purpose for the year, only the sled could be a pair of skis!
