We are looking for a person who would like to get paid experience through the kickstart scheme, working with children with learning disabilities, autism and other disabilities in the Bedford and surrounding area. We are thrilled to already offer one placement to an amazing young lady, and would love another kickstarter to join us in Bedford. We provide early intervention at home and school for children with additional needs and communication delays. We are looking for someone who loves to play with children, and wants to see them fill their potential and learn.
You will gain valuable experience of working 1:1 with children, using positive behaviour support and ABA therapy/teaching to teach skills a child needs for school, self care and communication. The role is varied, and no two days are the same.
Placements are for 25 hours a week, please see the link here https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/details/6961736 for information on hours. We need someone available after school 5-7pm for some evenings and 3/4 Saturdays 10am - 5:30pm. Monday and Tuesday, initially work from home - 9:30am-2:30pm (equipment can be provided.)
This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting experience in childcare, learning support, working with children and adults with additional needs. We can offer training in Positive Behaviour support, safeguarding and first aid, and supporting communication. Additional employability support is provided by adecco and will include interview skills training, CV building training and mentoring.
We need to fill the placement asap or we will loose it, and we really want to enable someone to start a very rewarding and worthwhile career in the field.
If you have a passion for working with children and making a difference, and are eligible for the kickstart scheme please apply https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/details/6961736 or speak to your job coach before 5pm tomorrow.
