Weighs less than a pound, was the runt of the litter. The breeder wasn't sure if he was going to make it, he was a fighter... My kind of puppy (dog)!!!!!

A WORLD WITHOUT CANCER, something we can only dream about. Learned more about the cancer BUSINESS and it just makes you wonder about the reality of cancer ever being cured?? Maybe prevention is more of the answer since for many cancer survivors like myself cancer comes back over and over for many patients.

This book actually talked about all 3 drugs (Avastin, Abraxane and gemcitabene) I was on for almost 3 years and I still am stage 4 cancer after all the years of misery being on treatment. So a few interesting and disturbing facts I learned:

1 PET scan has a radiation dose equivalent to as many as 2000 chest x-rays (I have had over 20 pet scans). So that means I have had radiation exposure that is equivalent to over 40,000 x-rays and that is only from my PET SCANS (Doesn't include CT's, my head and neck radiation in 2003, radiation to my hips in 2005 or actual x-rays I have had). When I chose to stop treatment I also chose to stop scans as much as possible.

Avastin (one I was on) and 3 other drugs generated 7.4 BILLION IN SALES in 2005!!!!!!! Seriously??? WOW!

From 1996 to 2005 consumer advertising for drug companies went from 985 MILLION TO 4.24 BILLION.

I could continue on forever, if you want to learn more about cancer, drug companies, healthcare issues, the HOPE prevention offers.... GREAT BOOK and VERY EDUCATIONAL!!!!!!!!

Woohoo... Houston Texans juicepack just arrived in the mail (ordered on Amazon Smile and chose Jamie's Hope as my charity)!!!! Always looking for easier ways to stay healthy on the go. Found a cooler backpack combo, my laptop & book I am reading are in the top section and still have plenty of room. The bottom section is a cooler I am using for my juice and food.

Great place (Buchanan's Native Plants) for anybody interested in plants, herbs, etc.... Been working on reducing supplements and getting everything in my food for a while.
So my next project is growing herbs such as sage, coriander, basil, oregano, thyme... TONS of health benefits in plants!!!!
Been buying some of these at the grocery store, take some in the essential oil form and some in supplements (all organic of course), but about to make some changes!!!!

Also picked up organic soil and found some other cool items (composter, rain barrels, organic seeds, lots of roses, etc......).

FYI: just in case anybody hasn't heard, gardening and nature is good for the health :)

MD Anderson donor appreciation lunch with Dr. Tsimberidou today. Love her so much, her passion for making a difference in cancer has always motivated me (she lost her mother to cancer years ago). Brilliant doctor and researcher!

I know many people wonder about my views on cancer treatment (been living with cancer and not on any treatment for 16 months now), diet, lifestyle, etc.. with everything I have been through over the last several years. It took me 20 years, 4 cancer relapses and almost 3 years of chemotherapy before I finally woke up and completely changed my lifestyle. I have struggled, fell off the wagon multiple times and felt very isolated at times (since I don't personally know anybody that lives such an extreme super healthy lifestyle like I have been on). So from what I have personally experienced and seen with other cancer patients/survivors many people don't want to change and we will always need more effective & less toxic treatments, SERIOUSLY need more regulation on all the chemicals that are added to our food/products and also need to invest more in education and prevention.

Sister picked me up from the airport a few hours ago and brought me to ER at MD Anderson Cancer Center (ER visit #4 over the past 1-2 weeks) couldn't walk again, had to use the wheelchair service at the airport.
After all my trips to the hospital... We have become professional ER visitors...
Cindy brought her own cot for comfort since we know the drill. In Puerto Rico, you have to bring your own bedding at many places (er clinics, hospitals), what an EXPERIENCE , NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY to be back in the states at MD. Wow... Had no idea how lucky I was to live so close to the medical center!!!!!!

Hip pain flare up after drinking fermented beverages, same thing that happened to me in August, very bizarre, maybe my metal hip doesn't like the bacteria??? Supposed to be good for you, seriously confusing that my body reacts to fermented drinks with swelling and pain.
When this happened in the past usually just takes a few days of being up at MD to clear it up :)
Then back to normal!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow will be interesting... Have to figure out what I am going to eat up here, luckily I have my Vitamix in my sisters car since coming straight from the airport!!!!!!

Domesticated birds, lol!!! They were eating out of people's hands. They sell some kind of fish you can feed them, they actually were chasing some of the kids... Fun to watch!! Note to self.. Carry your own toilet paper in Puerto Rico!!!!

Included pics of the weekend to-go lunch, no classes so lots of free time.

Experimented with pineapple this morning, blended rejuvalac (fermented quinoa for the liquid), a few frozen strawberries and the core of the pineapple to make a sauce and then covered pineapples. Great snack :)
