The machine in this photo is scanning the inside of the eye using technology called OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)👀

You can think of it like an ultrasound, but instead of using sound waves, it uses light to create highly detailed images of the inside layers of the eye (WOW, right!?)

We use this scan to look at areas like:
• the retina
• the optic nerve
• the macula (the part responsible for sharp central vision)

The scan helps detect and monitor conditions such as:
• retinal disease
• swelling in the retina
• glaucoma
• diabetic eye changes

The patient simply sits still and looks at a target light while the machine captures the images.
