At EQ4Kids, we talked about anger and learned that our feelings always come with a choice.

The children discovered how to spot the warning signs in their bodies before anger takes over and practised calming down before reacting. By learning to say, "I feel angry, but I can choose how I respond," they discovered that it is completely okay to feel angry, but that they always have the power to control how they behave.

When children understand that their emotions do not have to control their actions, they grow into young people who face challenges with patience, strength and grace.

Anger is not something to be ashamed of or suppressed, but a natural feeling that every child needs to learn how to understand and manage. When children are taught to recognise what triggers their anger and how to respond rather than react, they develop one of the most powerful life skills there is.

When children learn to pause, breathe, and choose how they respond, they discover that they are always stronger than their strongest emotion.
