As kids we laugh, cry, dance in the middle of the life, draw and be fully, unapologetically ourselves selves. Nobody taught us that. It’s simply what we are before the world gets to us. Then, slowly, the layers go on. Society hands us the boxes of right and wrong, black and white, love and hate. We learn which parts of ourselves are welcome and which parts to fold away, and one day we look up and realise we’ve built an entire life inside constructs we never actually chose.
The most underestimated power I feel we have is the power to declutter all of that. To take the layers back off and come home to the person we were before you were told who to be.
Here’s what I’ve learned since I started doing exactly that. We talk about opportunities as though they arrive, as though they come to us. I don’t think that’s true anymore at least not for me. I think the opportunities were often there, all around us. We’re just so covered up that we can’t see them. I’m in the middle of a software update and it’s wonderful 🤗
