Hub for hope
Geleë in Hopetown in die Noord-Kaap is gebore vanuit ‘n begeerte om ‘n verskil te maak in die koninkryk en in ons pragtige land Suid Afrika. Om vroeg te begin is vir ons ‘n boodskap van die Here. Hierdie eens pragtige biblioteek is oor 30 jaar totaal verwaarloos. Dit was ‘n bouval, ‘n stortingsterrein, die vensters gebreek, ‘n slaapplek vir boemelaars. Dit is in 1909 opgerig deur die bekende Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie was ñ vooraanstaande filantroop in Amerika, Groot Brittanje en Britse Ryk. Hierdie welgestelde man het verskeie geboue opgerig in SA en die wêreld. Sy doel was om ‘n verskil in die gemeenskap te maak. Hoop het letterlik uit die stof verrys soos wat ons hierdie gebou met die hulp van fondse laat herrys het. Vandag ‘n Baken van hoop.
Salt and Light het tans 40 kinders en ons gebruik ‘n kurrikulum wat die lig gesien het vanuit ‘n begeerte om die beste vir agtergeblewe kinders te gee. Ons val onder Jubilee Excellence Schools. Ons gebruik Montessori apparaat en hulle drie reels. Verder is die totale Kurrikulum herskryf om op die Bybel gegrond te wees.

From all of us at Salt & Light, we just wanted to take a moment to honour and celebrate every mother.

To the mothers raising and nurturing little lives every day, to the women who long to be mothers, to the spiritual mothers, the mother figures, and the women who carry love, strength, and care so beautifully — we celebrate you all.

As women and mothers ourselves, we know the beauty, sacrifice, tenderness, and strength that so many women carry quietly every day.

We pray you were loved, and appreciated this Mother’s Day. Thank you for all that you are. 🌷
