Weekly Support Group Report

"Recovery is not just about breaking free from addiction—it's about rebuilding lives, restoring families, and discovering purpose."

This past week was another impactful week across the Beresh*th Foundation as our support groups continued to provide hope, accountability, healing and practical empowerment to men, women and families affected by substance abuse.

At our Women's Centre, beneficiaries participated in our Sewing and Skills Transfer Programme, where they learned pattern drafting, measuring, cutting and garment construction. These practical skills form part of our reintegration strategy, empowering our beneficiaries to become financially independent while restoring their confidence and dignity.

Our Family Support Groups created a safe space for loved ones to share their journeys, encourage one another and receive practical guidance on walking the road of recovery together. Healing addiction requires restoring the whole family, and these gatherings continue to strengthen those vital relationships.

Our Men's Support Groups focused on accountability, discipleship and personal growth. Honest conversations, Biblical encouragement and peer support reminded every participant that recovery is a daily decision supported by a healthy community.

At our Pomeroy Centre, beneficiaries gathered outdoors for group sessions, reflecting on personal growth, responsibility and God's purpose for their lives. These moments continue to build resilience, discipline and hope for the future.

Every support group is another reminder that recovery is possible when people are surrounded by love, structure, practical support and the transforming power of God.

We celebrate every small victory and remain committed to walking this journey together until every life is restored.

💙 NELSON MANDELA DAY | RESTORING HOPE, RESTORING DIGNITY 💙

As we celebrated Nelson Mandela Day, our Beresh*th Jeppestown Treatment Centre was incredibly blessed by the amazing staff of Crazy Slots and GRF, who chose to invest their 67 minutes—and so much more—into the lives of our beneficiaries.

What an extraordinary day of love in action!

Together they transformed our centre by:
🛏️ Donating new beds and bedding.
🚿 Installing gas geysers and new appliances.
🎨 Painting and refreshing our facility.
🔥 Preparing a delicious braai and serving a scrumptious meal to our men and women in recovery.
🤝 Spending quality time encouraging our beneficiaries to remain committed to their journey of healing, restoration, and lasting recovery.

Sometimes the greatest gift isn't only what is given—it's the message that accompanies it:

"You matter. We believe in you. Keep going."

To the incredible teams from Crazy Slots and GRF, thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your willingness to stand alongside those rebuilding their lives. Your investment has brought renewed hope, restored dignity, and reminded our beneficiaries that they are seen, valued, and supported.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to every volunteer and every member of the Beresh*th family who continues to create an environment where transformation is possible.

💙💛💚NELSON MANDELA DAY | A DAY OF SERVICE, LOVE & HOPE 💚💛💙

Yesterday was a day that truly embodied the spirit of Nelson Mandela Day—a reminder that each of us has the power to make a difference through acts of kindness and service.

Beresh*th Foundation was honoured to partner with the incredible Nedbank staff, their families, and volunteers for a memorable day at St. Mary's Children's Home in Rosettenville.

Together, we rolled up our sleeves and served with joy.

🎨 Walls came to life with fresh paint and beautiful murals.
🕯️ Candle-making lessons inspired creativity.
🥪 More than 500 sandwiches were lovingly prepared.
🌭 Boerewors was braaied and delicious meals were shared.
⚽ Soccer, netball, dance, and games filled the day with laughter.
🏰 The jumping castle brought smiles to our younger friends.
👕 Every child was blessed with new clothing essentials, as well as warm beanies and gloves to keep them warm this winter.

What made the day truly special wasn't just what we accomplished—it was the relationships built, the laughter shared, and the precious moments spent with the children and staff of St. Mary's.

A heartfelt thank you to every Nedbank employee, family member, and volunteer, and to our amazing Beresh*th staff and volunteers. Your generosity, compassion, and willingness to serve made an unforgettable impact.

Together, we proved that when people unite with a common purpose, lives are touched, communities are strengthened, and hope is restored.

As Nelson Mandela reminded us:
"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead."

💙 BERESH*TH WEEKLY SUPPORT GROUP UPDATE 💙

Another week has come to an end, and our hearts are filled with gratitude as we reflect on what God is doing through our Beresh*th Support Groups across Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, including Phoenix and Chatsworth.

Week after week, men and women choose hope over despair, healing over hurt, and recovery over addiction. Our support groups continue to provide a safe place where people are encouraged, challenged, and empowered to live lives of freedom and purpose.

These gatherings are more than weekly meetings—they are places where lives are restored, families begin to heal, friendships are formed, and accountability strengthens the journey of recovery. Here, people discover that they are not alone and that there is always hope for a new beginning.

We honour every facilitator, volunteer, and participant who faithfully shows up each week with a heart to serve, listen, encourage, and uplift others. Your commitment is making a lasting impact in our communities.

Together, we are restoring lives, rebuilding families, and transforming communities—one person, one family, and one support group at a time.

Day 2 – Freedom in Christ | Pomeroy, KwaZulu-Natal

What a blessed and memorable day in the presence of the Lord!

Our day began at 3:00 a.m. as we departed Johannesburg for our beautiful Beresh*th Pomeroy Farm in KwaZulu-Natal. Although it was a long journey, every kilometre was worth it. The farm is truly a place of peace, restoration and God's presence—a beautiful and tranquil sanctuary where lives are being transformed daily.

Pastor Clive Bushby greeted the men at the centre and encouraged them from Matthew 6:33: "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." He challenged the men not to pursue possessions or worldly success, but to seek God above everything else, reminding them that when Christ becomes our priority, everything else falls into its rightful place.

Pastor Rene Bushby then ministered a profound and life-changing message on the renewing of the mind. Through a powerful illustration of the spirit, soul and body, she unpacked God's desire to transform us from the inside out, demonstrating how true freedom begins with a renewed mind and a surrendered heart.

Pastor Clive and Pastor Rene, we are deeply grateful for what the Lord is doing through your lives for His people. Thank you for pouring into every person with such humility, authenticity and love. Thank you for the personal one-on-one ministry sessions, for praying with individuals, listening with compassion and loving people the way Jesus loves. Your obedience to God's call is bearing eternal fruit.

To our incredible Beresh*th Headquarters and Pomeroy teams, thank you for your exceptional hospitality, your servant hearts and your unwavering commitment to excellence. Every meal prepared, every detail attended to and every act of kindness reflected the love of Christ.

A special shout-out to Ethan Govender for joining us on the farm today. It was a blessing to have you share in what God is doing at Beresh*th.

As the day came to an end, we began the long journey back to Johannesburg with hearts overflowing with gratitude. We travelled home tired in body, yet refreshed in spirit, rejoicing in all that God had done throughout the day.

To God alone be all the glory. We look forward with great expectation to all that He will continue to do as lives are healed, restored and transformed for His Kingdom.

Day 1 – Freedom in Christ

On Friday, 10 July, Beresh*th Foundation had the privilege of partnering with Teen Challenge Eersterust to host an incredible Freedom in Christ evening with Pastor Clive Bushby and Pastor Rene Bushby from CRB Ministries, Port Elizabeth.

What a powerful move of God!

Pastor Rene greeted the family of God with warmth and grace before releasing a powerful Word of resurrection over the congregation. She reminded us that God is still in the business of bringing dead things back to life. Whether dreams, visions, hope, purpose, or calling may have seemed lost or forgotten, our God is able to resurrect them for His glory.

Pastor Clive ministered a life-changing message on the Mighty Holy Spirit—our Comforter, Helper and Best Friend. He courageously shared portions of his testimony, revealing how God transformed his life from rejection, brokenness and addiction into one of healing, restoration and purpose. His testimony was a beautiful reminder that no one is beyond the reach of God's redeeming love.

To God be all the glory for the great things He has done!

A heartfelt thank you to our worship ministers from Love of Christ Ministries, who ushered us into God's presence through heartfelt praise and worship.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Pastor Raymond and Enon Church for so graciously opening your doors and trusting us with this gathering. Thank you for your generosity and partnership in advancing God's Kingdom.

To Brother Nico and the entire Teen Challenge team, thank you for your faithfulness and for sharing inspiring testimonies of the greatness, faithfulness and transforming power of our God.

Finally, to our incredible Beresh*th Foundation Eersterust and Jeppestown teams, who prepared a delicious chicken curry bunny and carrot salads...it ticked all the taste boxes—words cannot adequately express our gratitude. Thank you will never seem enough. Your commitment, excellence, compassion and servant hearts continue to impact lives wherever you go. Thank you for consistently leaving people better than you found them and for representing Christ with humility, love and excellence.

May God continue to bless every person who sowed their time, gifts and hearts into making this evening a success.
