🌱 IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE LABEL.
“Certified organic” means that a product has gone through a formal certification process and meets the requirements of a recognised organic standard.
However, certification can be expensive and difficult for smaller farms and producers to obtain. A grower may follow natural, sustainable farming practices without having the certification to put the organic label on their product.
For example, some of the manufacturers we get many of our spices from choose not to use synthetic pesticides, synthetic fertilisers or GMO crops, but simply don’t have organic certification.
🌱 So what do we look for?
At Organika, we care about where our products come from, not just whether there is a certification logo on the packaging.
We carefully select suppliers we can trust and look beyond the label where possible.
So while “certified organic” is an important and meaningful standard, the absence of that certification doesn’t automatically mean a product is low-quality, highly processed or filled with unnecessary chemicals.
Sometimes, you just need to look a little further than the label. 🌱💚
