OD IS IN CONTROL

There was a time when getting from the couch to the toilet was a mission for me.

Think about that for a moment. A grown man who used to work, provide for his family, play soccer and get on with life was now struggling to do something most people don't even think twice about.

I won't pretend it was easy. I had to accept that my body couldn't do what my mind wanted it to do. I had to be patient, even when I was frustrated.

But I was home. I had Anna. I had my children. And I had another chance at life.

That experience taught me something the hard way: you don't realise how much you take for granted until you lose the ability to do the simplest things.

So today, I'm not going to tell you that life is easy or that everything happens for a reason we can understand.

I'm going to tell you this: if you're going through a difficult time, don't be so hard on yourself because you're not where you want to be.

I had to start with a few steps before I could walk properly again. I couldn't rush the process. I had to keep working at it.

And that's how I look at life now.

I'm still learning. I'm still growing. I'm still trying to become a better husband, father and man than I was yesterday.

I believe God gave me another chance, and I don't want to waste it worrying about things I cannot control.

Wherever you are in your journey, start there. Do what you can with what you have today. Leave tomorrow in God's hands.

I've had to learn that lesson one step at a time.

God is in control. 🙏

OD IS IN CONTROL — MAKING PEACE WITH WHO YOU WERE

One of the hardest things in life is looking back at yourself and admitting that you weren't always the person you thought you were.

I've had to do that.

I've had to look at the way I treated people, the decisions I made, and the times I thought being on top was more important than showing respect. Back then, I didn't always see things clearly. Today, I see things differently.

And the truth is, I can't change yesterday.

I can't go back and undo my mistakes or change how someone felt because of my actions. All I can do is accept where I went wrong, learn from it, and make sure the man I am today is not the same man I was yesterday.

I've learned something else, too. You don't have to carry anger toward people from your past. I've forgiven people who hurt me. I genuinely hope they're doing well. Their journey is theirs, and I'll leave the judgment to God.

I have my own life to work on.

After everything I've been through, I don't want to waste the time God has given me holding on to things that no longer serve a purpose in my life. I want to spend time with my family, watch my children grow, enjoy the small moments, and become someone they can be proud of.

My circle has become smaller, but my priorities have become clearer.

I'm not saying I've got everything figured out. I'm still learning. I'm still growing. And the old Kev will always be part of my story. But he doesn't have to decide who I become.

That's where my faith comes in.

I believe God forgives us when we come to Him with a sincere heart. I believe He can take the mistakes we've made and use them to teach us something. But faith doesn't mean we pretend we never did anything wrong. It means we have the courage to face the truth and choose a better way forward.

Sometimes, God doesn't change your past. He changes the way you see it.

Today, I'm grateful for the life I have, for Anna, for my children, and for the opportunity to keep becoming a better man.

I don't need to prove that I'm better than anyone else. I just want to be better than the person I used to be.

Maybe that's part of what life is really about. Not being perfect, but being willing to change.

So, if you're carrying regret today, don't let it convince you that your story is over. Take responsibility for your mistakes. Make peace with what you cannot change. Forgive where you can, and let God guide the person you're becoming.

You cannot rewrite yesterday, but with God's help, you can live tomorrow differently.

GOD IS IN CONTROL. 🙏

Have a blessed Sunday. ❤️
