CHAPTER ONE

The Man Everyone Thought Was Fine

There is a strange loneliness that comes with being the person everybody believes is strong.

You learn how to walk into rooms carrying answers.

At work, somebody needs direction. At university, there are students waiting for you to know what comes next. Somewhere else, there is research that must be completed, a deadline that cannot move, a patient who needs an opinion, a family matter requiring attention, a church expecting leadership, and people who have quietly decided that you are one of those men who somehow knows how to make things work.

You become useful.

And usefulness can become an identity.

For years, I became very good at carrying things.

Responsibilities.

Expectations.

Other people's problems.

My own ambitions.

I built a life that, from the outside, made sense.

The strongest men you know—

Are fighting battles you can’t see.

Battles they never announce.

Never perform.

Never seek sympathy for.

*To The Father Nobody Checked On Today*

Today some fathers received gifts.

Some received phone calls.

Some received messages all day reminding them how appreciated they are.

But there are fathers who sat quietly today.

Fathers who smiled in public but cried in private.

Fathers who showed up for everyone else while silently wondering if anyone sees them.

Some are carrying financial pressure.

Some are carrying regret.

Some are carrying broken relationships.

Some are carrying wounds they cannot even explain.

Yet tomorrow morning they will wake up and continue being fathers.

That is the strength nobody talks about.

If today was difficult for you, hear this:

Your value is not determined by how many messages you received.

Your worth is not measured by who remembered you.

And your importance as a father does not disappear because someone failed to acknowledge it.

Keep showing up.

Keep loving your children.

Keep building.

Keep fighting.

Even when nobody notices.

Because there is a God who sees every sacrifice made behind closed doors.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18

To every father carrying silent pain today:

We see you.

A Father’s Day Thought

There is a father somewhere today who will smile in every photograph.

He will post the family picture.
He will buy gifts.
He will laugh with his children.

But deep inside, he is carrying battles nobody knows about.

He is worried about money.
He is worried about his future.
He is worried about whether he is doing enough.

Some fathers are even carrying the pain of broken relationships, mistakes they cannot undo, children they don’t see enough, or dreams that have not worked out the way they planned.

Yet tomorrow morning they will wake up and keep going.

That is the part of fatherhood people rarely talk about.

The strength of a father is not found in never falling.

It is found in getting up every single time life knocks him down.

So today, if you are a father carrying a burden that nobody sees, hear this:

You are not defined by your worst mistake.
You are not defined by your current struggle.
You are not defined by what you have lost.

Your children need your presence more than your perfection.

Keep fighting.
Keep showing up.
Keep loving.
Keep believing.

The story is not over.

To every father who feels invisible today we see you.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9

Word of the Day

My true story
A man once watched his life slow down.

The money wasn’t flowing like it used to.
The plans were taking longer than expected.
The pressure was growing.
And nobody could see the battles he was fighting behind his smile.

Every day he asked himself:
“Am I moving forward, or am I just surviving?”

Then he realised something important:

Not every season is for winning.
Some seasons are for rebuilding.

A tree doesn’t stop growing because nobody can see its roots.

So he kept going.
He learned.
He adjusted.
He paid what he could.
He fixed what he could.
He prayed.
He worked.
He showed up.

And little by little, the same season that almost broke him started building him.

Men, hear this today:

Your progress is not measured by how fast you move.
It’s measured by whether you refuse to quit.

Keep planting.
Keep building.
Keep showing up.

The roots you are growing today will become the strength people admire tomorrow.

“Do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” -Galatians 6:9

Gentlemen, I have discovered a new financial principle.

It’s called:

The Law of Romantic Inflation.

The more girlfriends you have, the more expensive bread, petrol, electricity, and data become.

I tested this theory.

When I was single:
✔ Petrol was affordable.
✔ I had savings.
✔ My bank app opened peacefully.

Then I started talking to one lady.

Suddenly:
“Can you help me with data?”

My savings decreased slightly.

Then I started talking to two ladies.

Now:
“Can you help me with transport?”
“Can you help me with lunch?”
“Can you help me with airtime?”

My bank account started asking for prayers.

A brother I know tried three girlfriends.

His banking app now opens with a warning:

“Are you sure you want to see this balance?”

Moral of the story:

Before adding another girlfriend, make sure you’ve finished paying for the first one.

🔥 THE INVISIBLE MAN PROJECT 🔥

Men are often expected to be strong, provide, protect, and keep moving… even when they are struggling inside.

But here’s a question:

👉 When was the last time someone asked YOU if you’re okay?

Many men are carrying:
▪ Financial pressure
▪ Family responsibilities
▪ Relationship struggles
▪ Depression and anxiety
▪ Loneliness and isolation

Yet they suffer in silence because society tells them to “man up.”

At The Invisible Man Project, we believe that a strong man is not one who hides his struggles, but one who has the courage to face them.

💭 Today’s Discussion:

What is the biggest challenge facing men in Africa right now?

1️⃣ Unemployment
2️⃣ Mental health struggles
3️⃣ Relationship and family pressure
4️⃣ Financial stress
5️⃣ Something else?

Drop your answer in the comments. Let’s start a conversation that matters.

REAL MEN TALK. FEEL. HEAL.

Many men are carrying battles nobody can see.

The pressure to provide.
The pressure to stay strong.
The pressure to keep going even when everything feels heavy.

At Invisible Man, we want every man to know this:

➡ It is okay to not be okay.
➡ Asking for help is not weakness.
➡ Speaking about your struggles is a sign of strength.
➡ You do not have to carry everything alone.

If you are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, relationships, fatherhood, finances, loneliness, or simply feeling overwhelmed, reach out.
