The focus? Precision Exercise Prescription for Sustained Physical Activity and NCD Prevention.

From personalised exercise programmes to finding sustainable ways to keep communities physically active, this research aims to turn scientific knowledge into meaningful health outcomes.

Cape Town for three weeks, Pretoria for one! 👋🩺

We caught up with Prof Louis Holtzhausen, specialist Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician and Extraordinary Professor at the University of Pretoria.

Prof Louis is based in Cape Town for three weeks of each month and then joins us at SEMLI in Pretoria for one week every month, where he is available to see athletes and active individuals of all levels.

With extensive experience across professional and Olympic sport and a particular interest in areas including sport-related concussion and sports injuries, there’s a wealth of expertise behind that SEMLI consulting-room door.

A little to when Irish SportsTech came to SEMLI! 🇮🇪🇿🇦🏋️

Together with Enterprise Ireland Africa, we welcomed Irish SportsTech companies to SEMLI for a day of demonstrations, conversations and connection with local schools, Heads of Sport and the University of Pretoria.

From seeing new technologies in action to exchanging ideas around sport and performance, it was a brilliant opportunity to bring international innovation into our SEMLI environment. 🙌
