Learn how to make a refreshing, nutrient-dense drink packed with anti-inflammatory ingredients and antioxidants. In this video, we blend a whole chopped lemon—peel and all—and a chunk of fresh ginger, which is peeled easily using a simple spoon hack.
Ingredients & Health Benefits:
**Turmeric & Black Pepper: A heaped teaspoon of anti-inflammatory turmeric is paired with a pinch of black pepper to maximize its bioavailability, along with a bit of healthy fat (like a spoonful of almond butter or alongside a meal) to optimize absorption.
**Citrus & Spices: Freshly juiced oranges add natural sweetness and extra flavour
**Cinnamon and ground clove are added for extra depth, with clove offering anti-parasitic and oral health benefits.
Straining & Reusing:
After gently heating the mixture to draw out the nutrients, strain it into a 2-litre jug and top it up with clean, preferably filtered water. Don't throw away the leftover pulp! This nutrient-rich paste can be added to yoghurt, mixed into a berry compote (such as strawberries and blueberries), or brewed into a warm tea.
Custom Boosts & Sweeteners:
To stimulate stomach acid, add a splash of apple cider vinegar, while the lemon helps clear the liver. For a clean protein and amino acid boost, mix in two scoops of XymoBolx. You can also sweeten the tonic with two tablespoons of honey or soaked, blended dates.
This versatile drink is delicious served cold or warmed up as a soothing tea
