Today, First Responder KZN would like to take a moment to honour and thank every paramedic for the incredible work you do each and every day.

A very special thank you goes to the First Responder KZN team of paramedics. Without your dedication, hard work, teamwork, and commitment, we would not be able to do what we do. Today, we celebrate each of you and take this opportunity to say thank you for everything you do to help save lives and serve our community.

Thank you for your passion, commitment, compassion, sacrifice, and the long hours you dedicate to helping others in their time of need. Your willingness to serve, care for, and support people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives does not go unnoticed.

🚨 Successful Technical Rope Rescue This Weekend 🚨

This is our passion, working together to save lives.

On Saturday afternoon, First Responder KZN was called by START Rescue to assist with the rescue of a woman in her 50s who had been hiking with her family in Kloof Gorge when she lost her footing and sustained serious injuries.

After assessing the scene, it was determined that due to the patient's injuries and her location deep within the gorge, the safest method of extrication was a technical rope rescue. START Rescue established the rope system, while First Responder KZN and ER24 worked together to stabilise and safely evacuate the patient. She was then transported by ambulance to hospital for further medical treatment.

A huge thank you to every rescuer involved. Search and Rescue operations are challenging, but through teamwork, dedication, and professionalism, lives are saved.
