"A calm awareness will help you make sure that you are stating your point without letting your ego make things worse... Your peace has the power to stop a disagreement from escalating into an argument. " - Yung Pueblo

🔥 We tend to feel justified, and even vindicated, when we lash out and respond with the same chaos as 'the other'. Lashing out can provide immediate emotional relief, but it often has long-term negative consequences for several reasons. The toll on wellbeing might not be immediate but can build up over time. The emotional and physical strain of living in a state of constant stress and conflict can accumulate, leading to burnout or more serious health problems.
🌊 Responding calmly is not the same as being a doormat or a people-pleaser. It's about communicating your needs and boundaries in a manner that's aligned with your values and well-being.
🌿 Reflecting on past experiences, you might notice patterns where responding with anger didn’t resolve the issue and instead created more problems. Developing strategies for managing reactions, such as mindfulness, deep breathing, or taking a moment to pause before responding, can help mitigate these negative effects and promote long-term wellbeing.
