TRACHOMA

It is a bacterial infection that affects your eyes. It's caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. Trachoma is contagious, spreading through contact with the eyes, eyelids, and nose or throat secretions of infected people. It can also be passed on by handling infected items, such as handkerchiefs.

At first, trachoma may cause mild itching and irritation of your eyes and eyelids. Then you may notice swollen eyelids and pus draining from the eyes. Untreated trachoma can lead to blindness.

Signs and symptoms of trachoma usually affect both eyes and may include:

◇Mild itching and irritation of the eyes and eyelids

◇Discharge from the eyes containing mucus or pus

◇Eyelid swelling

◇Light sensitivity (photophobia)

◇Eye pain

Young children are particularly susceptible to infection. But the disease progresses slowly, and the more painful symptoms may not emerge until Adulthood

No trachoma vaccine is available, but prevention is possible. The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed The strategy, titled SAFE, involves:

to treat advanced forms of trachoma

to treat and prevent the infection

cleanliness

improvements, particularly in water, sanitation and fly control.

Ten Reasons Why S*x Is Good Medicine

1. S*x cures mild depression by releasing endorphins into the bloodstream, producing a sense of euphoria and a feeling of well-being.

2. S*x is a natural antihistamine. It can help combat asthma and hay fever. No one ever gets a stuffy nose during lo******ng.

3. Lo******ng can burn up those calories you piled on during that romantic dinner.

4. S*x tones up just about every muscle in the body, and it’s more fun than swimming twenty laps.

5. When women make love, they produce large amounts of estrogen, which makes hair shiny and skin smooth.

6. The more often you have s*x, the more s*x you will be offered. A s*xually active body secretes large quantities of pheromones. These subtle s*x perfumes drive the opposite s*x crazy.

7. S*x is around ten times more effective as a tranquilizer than Va**um.

8. Kissing encourages saliva to wash food from the teeth and lowers the level of the acid that causes decay and plaque buildup.

9. S*x relieves headaches by releasing the tension that restricts blood vessels in the brain.

10. Gentle, relaxed lo******ng reduces your chance of suffering dermatitis, rashes, and blemishes. The sweat produced cleanses the pores and makes the skin glow.

Neuropsychiatric manifestation of HIV/AIDS

Think in this line:
What a person goes through at a time of testing? Mostly anxiety. Why? That's for you to find out lol

What can happen when results come out reactive? Anxiety, beginning of depression, suicidal. Again why? Think..

During the course of ART, what conditions can arise due to the psychological part of a disease? Depression is still coming back and anxiety.

What psychiatric sequelae directly related to the virus itself? HIV associated dementia on top.

What about conditions related to ART drugs? Psychosis (mostly hallucinations), which drug? Think...

Most of conditions (AIDS) that arise due to high viral load are not psychiatric. Eg. Meningitis, encephalitis, meningoencephalitis, toxoplasmosis, etc. Hence not neuropsychiatric.

I hope this helps students on this page.

✅About mental Retardation

Mental retardation, also known as intellectual disability, is a developmental disorder characterized by below-average intellectual functioning and limitations in adaptive behaviors. It affects individuals in various aspects of their daily lives, including communication, social interaction, and self-care.

Intellectual functioning is typically assessed using standardized intelligence quotient (IQ) tests, with a score below 70 indicating intellectual disability. Adaptive behavior includes the ability to communicate effectively, perform daily living skills, and function independently in social and community settings. The severity of intellectual disability ranges from mild to profound, with varying levels of impairment in adaptive behavior.

There are several causes of intellectual disability, including genetic factors, brain damage during fetal development or childbirth, and environmental factors such as malnutrition or exposure to toxins. Certain medical conditions, such as Down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, and fetal alcohol syndrome, are also associated with intellectual disability.

Treatment for intellectual disability focuses on providing support and assistance in areas where the individual may struggle. This may include specialized educational programs, therapy, and medication to manage any associated conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or anxiety. Individuals with intellectual disability can lead fulfilling and meaningful lives with the appropriate support and resources.

Intellectual disability does not define a person, and individuals with this condition should not be stigmatized or discriminated against. Rather, they should be respected for their unique strengths and abilities, and provided with opportunities to participate fully in their communities.
