Indomitable Dr. Natt Monday

As I settle into a new week, I’ve been reflecting on the conversations and connections that shaped the last one.

Some weeks simply remind you why this work matters. Last week was one of those weeks. I’ve attended many conferences over the years, but this one felt different.

I had the privilege of spending time with donors, partners, and fellow changemakers at the Segal Gathering who are deeply committed to strengthening communities across the continent. What I’ll remember most isn’t just what was discussed, but how it was discussed with honesty, curiosity, generosity, and a genuine willingness to learn from one another.

It was a powerful reminder that while funding is essential, meaningful relationships are what truly move our sector forward.

Thank you to the Segal Family Foundation for creating and nurturing a space where genuine connection can flourish, and to everyone I had the privilege of connecting with. I’m carrying the lessons, the conversations, and the renewed sense of purpose from last week into the work that lies ahead.

~Celebrating the Next Generation of Leaders~

Last week Friday , we celebrated the graduation of 45 outstanding fellows from Cohorts 2 and 3 of the Copper Rose Zambia Campus Corps Fellowship.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing young leaders grow into changemakers. It was an honor to celebrate this milestone with a remarkable group of fellows who are ready to make a positive impact in their communities.

Congratulations to our graduates. The future is in capable hands.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of serving as Guest Speaker at a masterclass organized by the Copperbelt University Economics Association SHE-Economist Movement under the theme, “The Female Multiplier Effect: Empower a Woman, Multiply the Impact.”

It was inspiring to engage with ambitious young girls who are committed to growth, leadership, and creating meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. Their thoughtful questions and determination to succeed reaffirmed the importance of investing in the next generation of female leaders.

My sincere appreciation to the organizers for creating a platform that fosters learning, mentorship, and leadership among young women.

Leading Tomorrow, Today: The Journey Continues with CCF Cohort 4

Today, I had the privilege of facilitating another incredible group of fellows as we officially began the Campus Corps Fellowship Cohort 4 journey.

As I shared stories from my time as a university student starting up an organization, I was reminded of how far we have come as Copper Rose Zambia in these 11 years.

During the discussion, the fellows raised thoughtful questions about balancing academics with career aspirations, pursuing purpose while still in school, and whether leaders are born or made.

These conversations and questions brought back a great deal of nostalgia. They reminded me of my younger self just starting out, often overwhelmed by the many responsibilities and uncertainties that came with chasing a vision.
Reflecting on that journey reminded me why we started this fellowship in the first place: to reach and empower as many students as possible through capacity building in leadership, community engagement, and professional development.

Seeing Cohort 4 begin this journey is both humbling and inspiring. I am excited to walk alongside these young leaders over the next three months as they learn, grow, and discover their potential.

Congratulations once again to all our Cohort 4 fellows. Your journey starts now, and I cannot wait to see what you will achieve.
