The Patriotic Front (PF) faction led by Miles Sampa has officially endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema as its preferred candidate for the August 2026 General Election.

According to Mr Sampa, the decision follows an assessment of the presidential candidates, which he says showed that President Hichilema remains the best option for Zambia at this time.

Sampa cited increased foreign direct investment (FDI), a more stable Kwacha, single-digit inflation and what he described as the elimination of political caderism among the reasons behind the endorsement.

The endorsement marks a significant development in Zambia's political landscape as parties and alliances position themselves ahead of the August polls.
